7.30pm: Fed up with his family arguing about him, Simon runs away while in Blackpool. Evidence against Gail mounts as two witnesses to her final fight with Joe come forward. Armed with inside information, Nick makes Carla a tempting business offer, and John returns from a successful interview
Here are some quite beautiful shots of Simon Barlow (played by Alex Bain) in Blackpool - though I'm not quite sure the Blackpool Tourist board would agree.
When George and Eve Wilson argue about not taking Simon Barlow home, he runs away causing understandable panic among the Barlows and making George feel very guilty indeed.

Comedy actress June Whitfield is to guest star in two episodes of Coronation Street as one of Blanche's old pals.
The 84-year-old veteran of the Carry On films and Absolutely Fabulous turns up at the old battleaxe's funeral.
The plot will reveal that Blanche, played by the late Maggie Jones, was staying with June's character May in Portugal before she died.

After last night's frankly damp squib of a break up between Tyrone and Molly (why do people always leave Corrie with a couple of bags rather than a removal van) it's good to see things hotting up as Tyrone stops sulking and starts fighting.
Suspecting that Molly is doing more than sharing a pricing gun with Dev, he lands a punch on the big fella. But will it be enough to stop Dev's crazy acting style and his strange sing-songy intonation.
Of course, guilty Kevin steps in to break things up - but little does Tyrone know (yet) that he's the man he should be landing a punch on, not Dev who is innocent of philandering for once.
You can see a preview of Thursday's punch up here on ITV's official website.

It's fair to say that Gail, who first appeared in the street in 1974, has been a little unlucky in love! Her marriage to Joe tonight will be her fifth wedding. Husband number one Brian, whom she married in 1979 and again in 1988 was stabbed in a nightclub brawl and number three, Richard Hillman, a pyschopathic murder, died after driving into the canal. Only Martin has survived. With Joe up to his neck in debt the odds for wedding number 4 don't look too great either!

7.30pm: Joe believes (wrongly) his troubles are over as his and Gail's wedding day dawns. Tyrone struggles to pluck up the courage to tell Kevin he is leaving the garage, Sally tries to arrange time off work without informing an ill-tempered Carla that it is to attend the hospital, and publicity of Norris and Freda's competition win upsets one newspaper reader!
8.30pm: Tina's attraction to Nick becomes clear to David, while the presence of nasty Rick the loan shark threatens Joe and Gail's reception. Peter's honesty and determination impress councillors at the planning meeting, but Ken remains focused on destroying his dreams for the bar. And Sally sees another side of Carla when she opens up about her health problems.

As has been widely reported, filming of Coronation Street had to be stopped yesterday because heavy snowfall meant most of the cast and crew couldn't get in. But you'll be pleased to hear that today it was business as usual - though the filming took place indoors because otherwise all of the snow would have to be cleared from the cobbles. Here we have some nice pics of the Street in the snow, taken from the official Corrie site. You can just about make out the Corrie snowman in picture 3!

ITV has just announced its Christmas schedules. As well as the usual Ant and Dec Christmas Special (they really are a cheekier version of Morecambe and Wise in just about every way now), there's An All Star Family Fortunes, pitting the minds of Corrie versus Emmerdale actors which should be compelling Chrimbo viewing.
Of course we hope that Corrie whoop their Yorkshire asses to use the common vernacular, but who would you choose to have in your Fantasy All Star Family Fortunes team if you could pick anyone from the show's history?

The one thing you can say about Corrie is that it has attracted some darned fine actors who simply want to appear in the soap because they love it so much. December sees the debut of two well established actors: Nigel Havers and Rula Lenska (pictured here courtesy of ITV.com).
BAFTA-nominated actor Nigel will play a character called Lewis, a charming gentleman escort - that'll be a gigolo then - who accompanies wealthy ladies to social functions. He will appear on-screen from December. And Rula Lenska (Celebrity Big Brother) takes the part of Claudia who meets up with her old friend Audrey Roberts at a hairdressing convention. But who are your favourite Corrie Cameos. Here we pick just some of ours.

Personally I don't like it all when new characters come back as completely different actors and often I don't warm to them at all. Take Sophie Webster, played by Brooke Vincent. I'm sure she's lovely person, but I just see her as an interloper - pretending to be the Webster's younger daughter, they just haven't realised it yet.
Of course, there are some exceptions, perhaps most notably Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) who really brought a fairly dull character to life in my opinion. But on the whole they haven't been so successful. Which brings us to Nick Tilsley. Played by Adam Rickitt, an actor so wooden he would have been better off in Corrie's Timber Yard, I was actually really pleased to see him go in 2004 despite his good looks (I'm only jealous).
But now Nick is back, only this time played by actor Ben Price which can only be a good thing. Best known as bisexual love rat Conrad Gates in Footballers' Wives, Ben makes his Street debut on December 21st in time for Gail marrying Joe (nevermind that he's around eight years older in real life than the 29 year old character). I only hope he plays a good part.
