ebaykymS.jpg...or Kym Marsh as she was then. On eBay today we find a twelve inch high doll, which is supposed to be the very likeness of Coronation Street's shiny-haired barmaid, back in the days when she was a pop star.

The doll was made in 2001, when Kym was in the band Hear'Say, which was formed out of the TV talent contest Popstars. The group, which also featured Myleene Klass, Suzanne Shaw, Noel Sullivan and Danny Foster, only lasted for 18 months before splitting up. During that time they produced two number one singles and a number one album. Kym was the first to jump ship, partly due to publicity about her relationship with future husband Jack Ryder, and the band replaced her with a male singer.

You'll have to pay at least £20 to get your hands on this piece of Corrie-related memorabilia. To be honest, it looks nothing like Kym, apart from the trademark glossy black hair, but it comes with a tiny pretend-microphone for hours of fun. You have until 17 January to bid for this item, bargain-seekers.

eBayFigures.jpgThere's a lot of fab Corrie stuff on eBay just now, as we were telling you only t'other day.

I'm tempted to bid for this one myself - it's a set of twelve Coronation Street icons, hand painted and made by Corgi. There's Elsie, Stan and Hilda, Rita, Deirdre, someone who looks like Gordon Brown but I think is possibly Ken, and others. They were made in 1998 and are in the original packaging. The perfect gift for someone with a bit of space on their "nostalgic die-cast toys" shelf.

tvtimesxmas.JPGThere's only 2 more weeks until Christmas but there's still time to pick up a few last-minute items. Over on eBay there's an edition of the TV Times from the end 1990 featuring Sally and Gail on the cover, both heavily pregnant with Rosie and David respectively. Ebay is a wealth of Coronation Street memorabilia, all perfect for your favourite fan. Popular items on search today include an interactive DVD game, the 2008 Official Coronation Street calendar, a top worn by "Tracy Barlow", and loads of other books and signed cards.

book1.JPGThis past summer, I picked up these two books on eBay, thinking they were different books. As I found out, they are the same book about Coronation Street, by Graeme Kay, with different covers and titles. It is a very nice book, with summaries for each year of Corrie up to the thirtieth year and has some great profiles on some of the classic actors of the show. Now, there's another copy on eBay for sale/auction under the title "Life in the Street". You've got until November 11 when the auction ends. It's a great addition to your collection.

jug.jpgIf you were lucky enough to snap up the Jack and Vera salt and pepper set that was for sale on eBay recently, you might be interested in a (kind of) similar item. Yes, ladies and gentlemen, to adorn your dining table to the point of distraction, we present the Albert Tatlock Jug. Now you can enjoy the stern gaze of one of the world's most curmudgeonly pensioners as you dine.

Actually, it doesn't look all that much like Uncle Albert at all, but it's quite sweet, in a totally barking way.

3a0c_2.JPGOver on eBay, there's a plain blue tshirt for auction. Why would you want that, you ask? Well, it's been worn by Jack P. Shepherd on our favourite telly show, Coronation Street and has the certificate to prove it. It's a size Small and is being sold to raise money for a school. It doesn't say what school but the auction originates in Wolverhampton. You've got 2 days to get your bid in.

Another interesting item is this set of stamps that might be of interest to collectors. There's lots of interesting Corrie items on eBay, and we try to blog some of the more interesting ones. Today seems to have brought a lot of ceramic mugs to the listings as well as quite a few old VHS (PAL format) tapes of various specials, character features and episodes).

ringS.jpg Ooh, this is a sad and bitter tale. Alison King (Carla Connor)'s ex-fiance has put her engagement ring up for sale on eBay.

"Alison and myself (actor Jim Alexander) got engaged in 2006," it says in the ring's description. "As documented by the tabloids, we decided to break off the engagement because of the stressful nature of our industry earlier this year. I feel that now is the right time to sell the ring as both of us have finally moved on."

There have been no bids for the item, which has a starting price of £800. It's apparently worth £2,000 and is, "a stylish, modern diamond platinum engagement ring by Leslie Davis ."

According to the Mirror, a "source close to Alison King" has said that, "It's upsetting, but Jim's a bit of a lad and won't think he's done anything wrong."

082a_1S.jpgIf you whizz straight over to eBay right now, you can kit yourself out as stylishly as Coronation Street's Rita Sullivan.

Barbara Knox's jacket, size 20, as worn in the show (it says) is being offered for sale. It comes complete with a certificate of authenticity from Granada (it says - Corrieblog can't be held responsible blah blah blah). It's either black or dark blue, hard to say from the picture, with a kind of Rorschach ink blot design, and can be yours for as little as £25. It's rather foxy and would be the perfect Christmas gift for any ex-nightclub singers-turned-newsagents you might know.

Wear Danny Baldwin's shirt

dannyShirt.JPGHere's a great find from eBay. You too can dress as stylishly as Danny Baldwin. I remember him wearing this shirt on Coronation Street and now, if you're the successful bidder on this auction, you can too! The auction doesn't say what size it is, but Bradley Walsh isn't a big man so an educated guess might be a man's medium. Hurry, the action ends on Friday.

Every now and then I come across something for sale in the online car boot sale that is eBay and have a little sigh to myself. A nice sigh. The sort of sigh that means I wouldn't mind waking up to have breakfast with this on my table to sprinkle all over my egg and beans. Yes, it really is a Jack and Vera Duckworth salt and pepper set. Have a look at more wonderful, sigh-inducing Corrie stuff we've found on eBay right here.

4cae_2.JPG.jpgI feel like a DFS advert. Or is that Harveys? There is a superb auction of Coronation Street memorabilia underway, which is from the private collection of Corrie storyline editor and scriptwriter Peter Tonkinson. The auction includes some very rare items, including internal Granada documents that you would never find elsewhere. There are story proposals from the early 80s, story outlines from May 1986 and other magnificent printed memorabilia. I've got my eye on 'I was Ena Sharples' father' by Tony Warren!

ebay%20sheet%20music.jpgThere's a fair few music-related items up for sale on eBay Gum right now that Coronation Street fans might find interesting, in an anorak sort of way. Well, it kept me amused! First off there's this 1961 sheet music of the original theme tune by Eric Spear. There's also some rare, old Betty Driver sheet music for sale too. Or, what about the Coronation Street Album and here's the Corrie theme tune as a jazz classic on an album full of telly themes. Intriguingly, here's an album of 12 songs called Ena Sharples presents the lad from Coronation Street and if you're desperate, well, there's always Tracy Shaw's single, Riding High.

ebay%20roy%20bag.jpgIf you've had your head turned by Roy Cropper's snazzy bag that he carries, why not treat yourself to a copy of it as there's one up for sale on eBay Gum right now. Whether it comes with keys attached, I don't know.

992782671718_suenicols.jpgNo, that's not Sue Nicholls on Boutros Boutros-Ghali's best vinyl floor, that's Sue Nicholls on a vinyl record. Funny how things happen after you mention them, isn't it? A couple of weeks ago we were discussing Sue Nicholls and her singing career, which had flourished during the 1960s and now a rare copy of her 7-inch single has popped up on eBay Gum. Bidding is only £1.99 so it may be worth the investment from a dedicated Coronation Street fan! [Ben]

question%20mark%20coronation%20street.jpgNow then, here's a little puzzle for you although I have to admit, it's not that difficult! Which ex-Coronation Street actor, who is currently rumoured to be making a comeback to Corrie, was once quoted saying this:

My first four years on the Street are all a blank. I had no idea what the XX family got up to between 1989 and 1993 until I saw old video footage. I was permanently p****d, drinking up to a bottle and a half of whisky a night and snorting cocaine to get a buzz and keep drinking. I was a complete drunken mess and literally killing myself with alcohol. I'm lucky to be alive.

This quote was taken from The Real Coronation Street by Nick Brownlee. It’s a cracking little book and there’s a copy of it currently up for sale on eBay Gum.

Life%20and%20loves.jpgCoronation Street books are a great investment for any Street fan, and most titles can be picked up on eBay Gum. Today I thought I'd do a brief review of one of my favourite books, which is all about Madame Tanner from No.11. The book is written by Daran Little and was first published by Boxtree in 1992 and is the bible for all Elsie fans. Divided into six brilliant section, the book explores Elsie's lovers, her family, jobs, lodgers, enemies and other memorable moments from 1960 until 1984. It was indispensable when writing about Elsie's men! As we can expect from Little, no Tanner stone is left unturned and even the tiniest tidbits from Elsie's life are unearthed.

There are many excellent photographs too, but my only criticism is that none of them are in colour - I like to see Elsie's red hair in glorious technicolour!

ebay%20tracy%20top.jpgThere’s a top for sale on eBay Gum that was worn by Kate Ford when she played Tracy Barlow in Coronation Street.

Proceeds from the sale are going to charity, which sounds good to us, and in this case the proceeds are going to Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

book1.JPGbook2.JPGDo you see these books? Look very different don't they? One is titled "Life in the Street... Coronation Street, Past and Present" and one is titled "Coronation Street Celebrating 30 Years". Both are authored by Graeme Kay. I saw each of them on eBay recently (two different sellers) and thought "ooh, those are new to me, I must get them for me collection". One arrived the other day and one today. Then I discovered that they are exactly the same book under the cover!!! I never really twigged that it would be the same book, even though it had the same author. The only difference is that "Life on the Street" was published in 1991 and has one more year's worth of storyline summaries than the 30th anniversary book. So, folks, if you're tempted, I just wanted to warn you. Same book, different cover and title. I can take one to a ping for a raffle prize and be reimbursed but you might not be so lucky. Oh well. It looks quite good and will be a nice addition to my collection that includes Weatherfield Life, Around the Houses, and various other anniversary type books.

Vikram and Yana on Ebay

VikramReg.jpgYou remember Vikram Desai, don't you? He graced the cobbles of Coronation Street for a few years. Remember this jacket that he *always* wore? Well, if you like it, you can own it! Yes, it's being featured on eBay this weekend in a sale for charity. It's only got another day and a bit though, so hurry on over if it's something you just can't live without!

Remember when we told you about Jayne (Yana Lumb) Tunnicliffe's Corrie pop art? Well, she's now set up an Ebay shop, selling a few of her prints there. The 12 x 16 inch prints are going for $45.00 US and a few greeting cards (8x6 inch for $7.00 US) with free shipping at the moment. The prints are signed, too! (We've referred to her also as Jayne Bickerton but the eBay shop has her listed as Tunnicliffe, just in case you're confused)
