It seems ages ago since we last had a yay or nay, but it was only a week since we asked you is the Dev/Nina/Tara love triangle just silly? There was general agreement that yes (or "yay"), it is just a bit daft. Dilly Daydream said, "Dev looks old enough to be Tara's father and Nina looks old enough to be Dev's mother." I'm still trying to work that out.

23_07_john-rosie.jpgMoving on, there's been some terribly bad behaviour recently from that Rosie Webster. All pout and cleavage, she's big-headed, selfish and frankly just not very nice. But she's never tried to drug any family members, loosen any scaffolding or pretend to commit suicide unlike a certain member of the Platt family. On the other hand, you could say that David Platt has more reason to be a delinquent - he's survived Richard Hillman and the slow neglect of his father, for a start. Decide, if you will, is Rosie Webster worse than David Platt? Click the comments link to have your say and vote yay or nay.

Last week we asked: does Carla really love Liam? And you certainly have opinions on that one! The yays outnumbered the nays by more than four to one, so it seems most of us agree that under that tough exterior, Carla's heart really does beat faster for Liam.

dairy-delights.jpgNow, quicker than I can scoff my way through a box of Dairy Delights (they're 65% cocoa, you know), I've switched my attention from one love thang to another. Dev Alahan and his women. He's had years without any romance, and now two women have come along at once (three, if you count Lisa the boring accountant). This week's yay or nay is quite simple: is the Dev/Tara/Nina love triangle scenario just plain silly? I'm going to have to give it a nay, it's not silly because I love the Devmeister, Nina is hilarious and Tara looks like she could run rings round the pair of them. But what do you think? Click the comment link to vote yay or nay.

And don't forget to add your name to our "Keep the Mortons in Corrie" petition!

Last week we asked: should the Mortons stay in Corrie? Lots of you commented (thank you!), and the overwhelming opinion (are you listening in Manchester?) is that at least Jerry, Teresa and the twins should stay. Peter said, "It is ironic that their exit storyline signalled how good the characters actually are. The re-introduction of Karen Henthorn as Teresa was a masterstroke." Well said, that man.

12_05_carla-liam.jpgNow this question may well bore you to death if you're one of the people who is totally "over" Liam and Carla. But I find myself in little discussions on this very topic with people and I'd like to know what you think. Does Carla really love Liam, or does she just enjoy having power over a weak, defenceless man? Personally I think she really does love him (and who can blame her). She has this tough outer shell, but on several occasions we've seen her softer side - and it's always Liam who brings that side of her out. But please feel free to disagree (or agree) by clicking the comments link and voting yay or nay: does Carla really love Liam?

Last week we asked, did Jed Stone's comeback work? A mixed response, with Dilly Daydream summing up nicely: "If that is all we're getting of Jed, I can't really see the point in bringing that character back at all - it has raised too many questions (like why hasn't he been seen in the Rovers etc). So why didn't they just use some non-entitiy for such a short while? Perhaps he will be making a reappearance after all. I hope so."

16_06_teresa.jpgI'm feeling all kerfuffled this week with the absolute waste of letting an actor of the calibre of Michael Starke (Jerry) go. And as if that wasn't bad enough, currently Karen Henthorn is acting her socks off as Teresa Morton. It's like the Coronation Street writers only belatedly realised what they could do with this family, after several months of them being given only very lame storylines, and after the decision had already been taken to let Michael Starke go. Jerry is apparently going to Spain, but there's nothing to stop him returning (and Darryl is possibly staying anyway), and I'd love to see that happen. Do you agree? Would you like the Mortons to stay in Corrie? Click the comments link to vote yay or nay.

Last week we asked: will David approve of Gail and Joe? The question provoked a lot of discussion but no clear yay or nay.

jedStone2008.jpgNow, I have to admit I've been on me holidays and only saw the odd glimpse of Coronation Street while I was away, and managed to more-or-less miss the episodes featuring Jed Stone. So I'd love to know from you knowledgeable people - did Jed Stone's comeback work? Did it make you think fondly of the good old days? Or was it implausible that he was living so close and only came out when the cameras weren't looking? Click the comments link to have your say and vote yay or nay.

04_04_david-gail.jpgLast week's Yay or Nay asked whether you think Joe McIntyre is a decent bloke. Overall, you seem to like him and hope that Gail has found a nice bloke finally, though one person thought they'd rather see Eileen with a nice bloke first. Today's Yay or Nay is related. Currently, Gail and Joe are keeping their relationship under wraps because David and Tina are split up. Chances are, Tina and David will reconcile and at some point, Gail and Joe's relationship will be "outed" because nothing stays a secret on a soap for very long. Today's Yay or Nay asks "Will David (and/or Tina) try to break up Gail and Joe?" David might very well take it badly considering what he's suffered at the hands of his mother's men (Richard Hillman, and Phil foot doctor who roughed David up a bit). Could he revert back to bad old David and take action?

Last week we asked if you thought that Dev was being set up by Nina. And everyone said Yay. Tainted Love was sensing a Tony Gordon connection, and Dash wondered if there were echoes of Fred Elliott and Orchid. But oldtimer is confident that Amber will rescue Dev in the end.

joe-mcintyre.jpgThis week, Tina's dad Joe McIntyre (Reece Dinsdale) has been around the Street quite a bit, and there are signs that a romance with Gail is on the cards. He's certainly put a twinkle in her eye, anyway. But what do you think of him? Is he suave and charming, creepy and weird, or just good old Joe? Will he be good for Gail or turn out to be another wrong 'un? In short, is it a yay or a nay for Joe McIntyre?

In last week's yay or nay we asked if you'll be buying the Corrie spin-off DVD which is currently being filmed in South Africa. The voting was a 50/50 split, though of the people who said they would be buying it, it was more a case of "why not?" than any huge enthusiasm.

01_08_dev-nina.jpgMoving on, and this week Dev has been prancing around Coronation Street on Cloud 9 following a night of lurve with his Bollywood idol. But is Nina Mandel all she seems? Is she just a bored lady of leisure after a bit of a thrill with Mr Seven Shops, or is there something more sinister going on? A blackmail plot, perhaps? Last week we asked if any of you had anything good to say about Michelle Connor. And guess what? You don't! Daphne K's comment was typical: "Steve has been a star of the show for years -this nagging, demanding, hair flicking drama queen has reduced his character to a spineless, wet idiot. Get rid of her NOW." Kym Ryder came in for some criticism, while others felt it was the writers who were at fault for the way the character had turned out.

wendi-peters-297.jpgThis week, we keep hearing bits of news about this Coronation Street spin-off DVD which is being filmed in South Africa. It features the return of Cilla Battersby-Brown, who has a new Les in her life, plus Kirk, Chesney and Fiz. It'll probably come out at Christmas and will of course make the perect gift for any Corrie fan, but what I'm wondering is, will you be buying it? Last week's yay or nay asked whether Fiz should forgive John Stape, and it was no surprise that the answer was an almost unanimous nay. I say "almost," because Pearl thought that the nasty writers should have left Fiz and John alone to be happy in the first place.

Michelle Ryan.jpgWill Pearl's spirit of kindness and forgiveness spread to the rest of you for this week's yay or nay, I wonder? Most episode reviews on Corrieblog these days soon attract negative comments about Michelle Connor's character, with some people even threatening to stop watching Corrie altogether because of her. So what I'm wondering is - have you got anything nice to say about Michelle Connor? Click the comments link and have your say, whether it's a yay or nay.

Our comments facility is back, so this week we can have a proper yay or nay! Yay! Last week's was done in poll form, and posed the deep philosophical question: does Roy have the right to judge Becky's morals? I'd love to give you the result - it was a "nay" last time I looked - but the Polls Boutique site is temporarily off so I can't. I seem to be having this effect on technology recently.

Rosie Stape.jpgAnyway, onwards and upwards and another moral issue this week. Slimy (ooh, I haven't used that word since Paul Clayton left) John Stape is worming his way back onto our screens any minute now, and he wants Fiz to have him back. I think you know how I feel about this one, but what about you, dear readers? Can you find any redeeming feature about the Stapester? Is he Fiz's soulmate who was just led astray by a pouting teenager? Should Fiz forgive him, yay or nay? Click the comments link to let us know!

Last week's yay or nay topic was about whether the Peacocks should have shared the £7,000 with the Webtsers. Thanks to our ongoing comments problem, we ran this as a poll (I couldn't even get the poll to display so we had to run it as a link to a poll), and the result was that 48% said nay, the Peacocks were entitled to keep the money because "finders keepers."

04_07_becky-roy-2.jpgThis week we're asking, does Roy have the right to judge Becky's morals? And until we get our comments up and running again, it's another poll, which you can find here.

I'd love to know your thoughts about this issue, so either leave a comment at the poll site, or email me.

Last week's yay or nay, should Michelle forgive Steve? was a bit scuppered by the ongoing problem we've been having with the comments so we only had seven replies. Or maybe you just don't care whether she forgives him or not. Anyway, those who did reply were fairly united in hoping she didn't forgive him, but, as Dilly Daydream put it, "I hope she doesn't forgive him and clears off, never to darken the cobbles again." Harsh!

20_06_moving.jpgI'm afraid the comments facility is still broken. Please be assured that geeky types with pens in their shirt pockets are, even as we speak, crawling all over Corrieblog Towers in an effort to fix things. So this week's yay or nay will be in the form of a little poll, which you can find here.

The subject is: Should the Peacocks have shared the £7,000 they got from the sale of the pop memorabilia with the Websters?

If you want to comment more fully, please feel free to email me. Put "Comment" as the subject heading.

Last week we asked you whether Teresa was a worse mother than Cilla, and there weren't very many replies, which possibly means that there isn't much to choose between the pair of them for their sheer lack of maternal skills.

19_05_leanne-michelle-steve.jpgMoving swiftly on, Steve McDonald's been a naughty boy, what with his silly rivalry with Dan Mason and then his night of madness with Becky Grainger. Michelle is very close to finding out the truth, and what I'd like you to deliberate on this week is, should she forgive him? If I was her I'd definitely be slicing up his clothing, dyeing his hair green while he slept and donating his prize possessions to the Friends of Weatherfield Hospital summer fete (the usual things), but that's just me. Yes, several people have had to take out injunctions against me. But what about the lovely 'Chelle? Surely she can't throw away a relationship with Weatherfield's cuddliest landlord? She'd miss the pub and his mostly invisible child Amy too much, wouldn't she? What do you think, Corriebloggers? Click the comments link to air your views and vote yay or nay.

02june_Teresa_Lloyd_Finlay.jpgcilla-thumb.jpegLast week we wanted to know if you thought Tony Gordon was set to be a classic Corrie villain. Most of you thought Yay but some were unsure. Maybe he's just destined to be come a classic Creep! Time will tell.

This week, we've seen Jerry's ex-wife Teresa scam Lloyd into believing Finlay was his as a result of a one night stand, asking for cash to buy Finlay "needed" items and spending it on booze instead. She took the games Lloyd bought for Finlay from Michelle and pretended she bought them, but also tried to flog them back to Michelle first. She clearly cheated on Jerry but probably let him think Finlay was his, until Finlay appeared and clearly was not Jerry's kid. Most of her children can't stand her though the little ones haven't seen her true colours yet. She was more bothered that Jerry took her telly and freezer than she was that he took the two younger kids too, after she'd left them on their own and went on holiday.

But then we have Cilla. We know Cilla has form. Cilla's kids have all been in care. Cilla used Chesney to try to take Rita to court for as much as she could get. She tried to sell Schmeichel to Yana when he was a pup, pretending he ran off. She often left Ches alone and only made a big deal of her mothering skills if it was useful to her. She let her children think she was dying of cancer just so she could get back at her husband for cheating on her!!! So here we ask, is Teresa a worse mother than Cilla?

Last week's yay or nay asked: will you miss Vernon? A bit of a mixed reaction to this one, but the majority vote was a yay. Debo said, "I've loved Vernon from his first appearance, he's a great comedy character. He should stay, pair up with Yana, and become the new Les and Cilla of the street!" Now there's an idea!

Tony-Gordon-3.jpgOne person who's not leaving Coronation Street anytime soon is Tony Gordon (Gray O'Brien). Just back from Beijing and doubtless plotting one of his special surprise dinners, we've only had a whiff so far of the catalogue king's scary potential, but I think he could be one of the great Corrie villains, up there with Richard Hillman. He's got a great mixture of ruthlessness and charm, and he's also going to have a sidekick soon in the form of Jimmy Dockerson (played by Jane Danson's husband Robert Beck). But is Tony Gordon going to be a classic Corrie villain? Click the comments link to vote yay or nay. Do it now - or I'll send Tony round to cook you something special.

In last week's Yay or Nay we asked, is it time to close the Kabin? A few people thought the Corrie newsagents had passed its sell-by date, but the vast majority want to keep the Kabin in more-or-less the present form. Lewis summed it up: "It's added a certain culture to the Street, that small local shop, just to know it's there and how many little amusing scenes have happened in there between Rita and Norris especially add humour and characterisation to the soap."

Vernon.JPGOn the subject of humour and characterisation, I absolutely love Vernon Tomlin. I like those scenes where Steve and Betty are getting at him for his laziness, and his great visions for the Rovers (like revamping the menu). He's a fantastic comedy character and I'm going to miss him when he leaves. Do you agree, though, Corriebloggers, or will you be glad to see the back of him? Last week's yay or nay didn't ask for a yay or a nay, but for a bit of advice for incoming producer Kim Crowther. There were some interesting replies - have a look here.

norris-cole.jpg We recently blogged about a rumour that Rita was going to sell the Kabin and retire. Obviously if that was to happen it would be the end of an era, but to be honest that shop seems totally unrealistic to me anyway. They never have more than two customers in at a time, and the most expensive item I've ever seen anyone buy is a copy of Moxy. Is there still a post office element to it? Or did that close down? The occasional mugging and bit of gossip excepted, nothing happens in the Kabin that couldn't be transferred to the Rovers, the Corner Shop, Roy's Rolls and so on (though I love Norris so I'd still want him to be around). So I reckon that the Kabin wouldn't be missed, but what do you think? Is it time to close the Kabin? Click the comments link to have your say and vote yay or nay.

Last week's yay or nay asked: Is Tina the best new character in years? And your verdict was a very convincing Yay. Becky picked up a few honourable mentions, but overall, Ms McIntyre has won your hearts.

KimCrowtherS.jpgThis week I'm not actually looking for a yay or a nay. In the week that the first of the Kim Crowther-produced Corrie episodes has hit UK screens, what advice would you give her? Which characters would you like to see more of? Who would you scrap? Have you any brilliant ideas for storylines? Last week we asked, Is Rob James-Collier just a pretty face? And you all agreed that of course he isn't - he's a good actor too. Cobbler did point out that "the pretty face is hampering him" as far as being taken seriously as an actor is concerned.

Tina-145.jpgI think I know the answer to this one already, but I'd really like to know your opinion of the lovely Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan). I reckon the Corrie producers must be lighting candles on their Ena Sharples shrine to give thanks for the day that girl turned up for an audition. She's fitted into the Street so well - she's funny, feisty, and can handle big emotional scenes with apparently the same ease she can handle throwing out funny one-liners. What do you think? In last week's Yay or Nay we asked, Should the Masons stay in Corrie? And it seems that the bookies have won your hearts, because overwhelmingly you said Yay. Do you think we should start a petition? (That's not this week's Yay or Nay, by the way).

02_05_liam-2.jpgThe British Soap Awards took place at the weekend (it's on telly tonight, 8pm on ITV1 and 10pm on ITV2). Rob James-Collier won Sexiest Male for the second year running. I don't want to debate whether he deserved it or not, because that's a given, but I was interested in his reaction. Ian Wylie of the MEN, said Rob didn't look "massively impressed" with the award and said in his speech, "Thank you very much for this award, that really reflects acting ability..."

Last week we asked: has Steve Frost done a good job? The reaction was mixed, but the majority verdict was Nay, he hadn't done a good job. The Alex/Ryan baby-swap storyline was mentioned more than once as an example.

Masons.jpgFrom the old producer to the new one, and Kim Crowther is giving the elbow to various Corrie characters, including those kebab-purveyors the Mortons, and the dad-and-his-lad bookies, Harry and Dan Mason. Most people agree that the Mortons (with the possible exception of Jerry) have passed their sell-by date, but what about the Masons? Corrieblog reader Peter said he felt a yay or nay coming on about them, because axeing the Masons "is a big mistake and will ultimately prove (I think) to not be a popular move with the viewers." Last week's Yay or Nay asked: Should Becky and Jason be together? The verdict was a very definite Nay, with most people thinking that it was a total mismatch. Pearl said, "Jason deserves a uncomplicated girlfriend, not Becky."

SteveFrost.jpgThis week we're going to be thinking big. As Kim Crowther takes over the reins as Corrie producer, it's a good time to ponder the work of the man she's replacing, Steve Frost. He's been the producer of Corrie for two years or so, and during that time we've had the Mortons and the Connors arriving in Weatherfield, and also had some huge storylines such as Tracy Barlow murdering Charlie Stubbs. Last week's Yay or Nay posed the question: would you have tackled David Platt? What a load of have-a-go heroes you all are, since the majority answer was a gung-ho Yay. There were a few people who, like me, would have been cowering in the corner with Tyrone and Kevin though.

beck jason 1-2.jpgOnward and upward, and next week sees Becky and Jason getting all cosy with each other again. And I'm wondering, what do you think of these two as a couple? I have to admit that whenever I see Becky locking lips with someone, all I can think of is how faggy her breath must smell, but that's non-smokers for you. I think they're quite a sweet couple, but she's very sharp and he's kind of fuzzy, if you know what I mean, so possibly she'd get bored after a while. 07_04_david yn.jpgThis week has been all about David Platt, so let's stick with that for now. Following his destructive spree on Monday, a lot of people wondered why Tyrone, Kevin or someone else didn't grab David much earlier.
