What he doesn't know is that Kevin has been following behind.

roy and hayley.jpegRoy and Hayley Cropper are set to make Coronation Street history, as they will have the soap's first transsexual wedding.

The pair have previously had their relationship blessed before civil partnerships were legalised and Hayley changed her name to Cropper by deed poll.

But as they say the course of true love never runs smooth and while Roy wants a quiet low budget wedding, Hayley wants to push the boat out for a day to remember. Like any wise woman she bans him from their bed until he concedes!

An insider told The Sun: "Thankfully, Roy relents after Hayley puts the pressure on and it's a day for all the street's residents to celebrate."

Gail McIntyre It's a bad day for Gail when Tina tells the police she has evidence Joe's widow was involved in Joe's death. As the suspicions of the police grow, so do Tina's and she finally snaps at Joe's funeral service.

Michelle Keegan, who plays Tina, said: "She has a bit of a rant in the church, humiliates Gail in front of everyone and calls the police." Following Tina's outburst the police arrive, during Joe's wake, to arrest a shocked and pale Gail on suspicion of murder.

sean2.jpgSean is set for a reunion with son Dylan as part of Coronation Street's 50th anniversary plans. The knicker-stitcher's son was conceived when Sean, played by Antony Cotton, acted as a sperm donor for his friend Violet.

Violet left Sean devastated when she fled Weatherfield with Dylan and partner Jamie Baldwin played by Rupert Hill in 2008. But according to the Daily Star the gay machinist tracks her down via Facebook.

Antony recently said he had an "exciting" plot in the pipeline which was due to commence in the Spring.

blanche hunt.jpg Norris thinks he's in line for a fortune when Blanche's will is read out in Coronation Street, only to find out that she has cancelled her copy of Crossword Monthly! And Betty is snubbed when Blanche insists on Elliot's pies at her wake and "definitely none of those terrible Betty's Hotpots".

These are just some of the japes that Blanche plays on her 'friends' and family from beyond the grave. According to the Daily Mirror, she also describes Ken as a "serial cheat" and demands her wake be held at an expensive hotel even though "he'll try to bury me on the cheap".

The reading of Blanche's will and her funeral will be seen in Coronation Street in May. Actress Maggie Jones who played battleaxe Blanche died in December, aged 75.

Sophie.jpgSuper-brat Rosie Webster will stand by her sister Sophie (pictured) in her lesbian relationship with friend Sian Power. Helen Flanagan, who plays Rosie, told The Sun: "You'll be surprised at how she reacts - she will stand by Sophie. When you love your sister, you support her."

Brooke Vincent, who plays Sophie Webster, has talked about how the storyline is "cleverly done". She says: "It's going to be implicit, not explicit, and we want that to come across. It's emotional and more about the feelings."

She is pleased she is acting out the plot alongside Sacha Parkinson, who plays Sian Power, as the pair are good friends in real life, having known each other since drama school.

Corrie Spoiler: Leanne pops the question

Peter and Leanne Leanne Battersby is to propose to recovering alcoholic Peter Barlow and the two are to get married in a December wedding, marking Corrie's 50th anniversary.

Leanne, played by Jane Danson, stuns the Rovers when she gets down on one knee to ask Peter to marry her, just days after accusing him of having an affair with Michelle Connor (Kym Marsh) and chucking a drink over her supposed love rival.

According to the Daily Star she says: "I know I'm a nightmare and can be a stroppy cow at times, but Peter, will you do me the immense honour of marrying me?" Aah now romantic.

7.30pm: David disposes of Joe's mobile phone, but police already know it was used in Weatherfield after his death. 8.30pm: Gail tells the police she sent Tina's birthday text, but is baffled when she cannot find the mobile. 25_02_CORO_GAIL_ADMIT_3.jpgDavid tries to prevent Gail confessing everything to the police as officers' suspicions mount. Jackie confronts Molly in an effort to understand why she left Tyrone, George asks Leanne for permission to take Simon on holiday, while Dev and Sunita's make-believe relationship appears to be turning into reality.

dev and sunita.jpgIt's been coming for some time of course. But former married couple Dev and Sunita Alahan finally get it together after more than four years of being apart. As Sunita's aunts leave, she's full of confusion about her feelings for her ex-husband and leans in for a kiss.

Actor Jimmi Harkishin, who plays shopkeeper Dev, said: "She can't resist him any longer." Dev is over the moon, but it's not all plain sailing for the couple. Jimmi said: "I think Dev's going to try really hard not to mess this up but knowing Dev he'll probably mess it up again!"

The official Corrie website has an exclusive interview with Jimmi Harkishin, talking about the rekindling of the relationship.

sophie-710.jpg It's been rumoured by Corrieblog for nearly a year now. See here. But now it seems that it's actually happening. Coronation Street is to air its first lesbian kiss this Spring as Sophie Webster, played by Brooke Vincent, locks lips with Sian Powers, reports The Sun.

Sophie is comforting Sian, after she splits from her boyfriend Ryan Connor when a friendly hug turns into a passionate kiss. Sophie tells Sian: "You are far more important to me than any lad." Sian gasps: "I've got to go" - and runs out of the Websters' house.

A source told The Sun: "Sophie and Sian think they're just good friends but their feelings for each other have been growing. Things come to a head when Ryan tries to kiss Sophie. Sian runs back to Sophie sobbing - and their emotions take over."

I think what is really interesting about this storyline is how the script writers will deal with the obvious conflict between Sophie's religious beliefs - given they have both taken a vow of chastity in church - and their sexual feelings for one another.

The episode airs on Friday April 9th, nearly a year to the day since Corrieblog first ran the story. Currently the only gay on Coronation Street is Sean Tully, played by Anthony Cotton.

Exclusive interview with Michelle Keegan

michellekeegan.jpg Over at ITV's official website there's an exclusive interview with Michelle Keegan who plays Joe's daughter about her feelings when she finds out her Dad has faked his own death.

Tina feels torn between telling the police the truth or waiting in case Joe sees sense and returns home. Says Michelle Keegan: "She can't believe her dad would really do that to her or Gail. Things are going to get a lot worse for them now." What none of them realise is that the truth is actually a lot more shocking than they think!

gail and joe.jpgExclusive to Corrie's official website, Helen Worth, aka Gail McIntyre, talks about her and Joe's latest trip to the Lakes.

Interviewed against a truly stunning Lakeside backdrop, she admits Gail is shocked by Joe's insurance scam proposal. But Joe is a desperate man and is set to take desperate measures to get his own way and get his hands on the money he needs to pay off his debts!

"There is actually a point where Gail gets on the boat to stop him but doesn't succeed. He throws her off," says Helen.

You can see the interview and footage here.

BECKY_GRANGER.jpgFrom the official Corrie site: Becky McDonald throws in a show-stopper when she makes up with hubby Steve. When the pair finally sit down to talk about their marital problems, she shocks him with some unexpected news. She announces that she's pregnant.

The pair have been arguing for weeks about starting a family. Katherine Kelly, who plays Becky, said: "Becky doesn't want kids. So the trouble begins."

You can read an interview with Katherine Kelly who plays feisty Becky in The Sun today. And don't forget to vote for the two of them for Wednesday's National Television Awards.

John Stape 135.jpgSTV reports that John Stape is to return to teaching. Now I'm not sure how I would feel if someone found guilty of kidnapping a child got a teaching job even if she was the criminal's former lover! But this is Corrie after all and the victim was Rosie Webster who is fast becoming Corrie's superbitch.

Realising that he won't get a job in the school, Stape applies and gets a job at an adult education centre. But what will they do when they realise he was behind bars until a few months ago? No doubt it's a storyline that will run and run.

simon and peter barlow.jpg Blackpool residents are up in arms as a result of a Coronation Street storyline which sees Peter Barlow's son Simon go missing in the town. One sarcastic comment to the local paper The Gazette says: "Well showing the child of visiting holidaymakers going missing in Blackpool's back streets should give a huge boost to the town's plans to attract families to the resort."

The plot, which sees six year old Simon go missing on a trip with his grandfather George Wilson and wife Eve, echoes a previous planned storyline which involved baby Freddie Peacock being snatched from his bedroom by a family friend. However, this plot was later scrapped because of 'disturbing similarities' to the McCann case.

Thankfully it seems this latest storyline is nothing like the last. Simon walks off of his own accord near North Pier and spends a whole night alone in the scary streets. But although the action goes on over a few days we are assured there is a happy ending.

MOLLY_COMPTOM.jpgFrom the official Corrie website: Molly Dobbs finally tells her hubby Tyrone that she doesn't want to be with him. They have a row after Tyrone turns down the job in Cheshire and Molly decides she can't live a lie anymore.

Tyrone is caught completely off-guard by his wife's confession. Alan Halsall, who plays Tyrone, said: "Tyrone gets some worldly advice from Jack which is always fun. He tries to lay the law down and then Molly hits him with the bombshell that she's leaving him."

david platt 7.jpgWe're so used to David being such a rotten son that news of him helping his (admittedly annoying) Mum Gail off the hook comes as something as a shock. But that's exactly what Irish website RTE is reporting today.

Apparently David, played by Jack Shepherd, destroys evidence incriminating his mum Gail in Joe McIntyre's death. As reported in Corrieblog a couple of weeks ago, Joe McIntyre played by Reece Dinsdale, dies after a plot to get insurance money by faking his own death in a boat accident goes horribly wrong.

Gail (Helen Worth) is the prime suspect when his body is found with her nail scratches on his face. She also took out a life insurance policy on him two weeks before his death. After realising his phone has texts that could make it look like Gail killed her hubby, David throws his phone into a canal in a bid to stop his Mum going to jail.

rollerskating rosie.jpgWell you can't blame ITV for cashing in on Helen Flanagan's good looks I guess. Flanagan, who plays saucy minx Rosie Webster of course, has a new career as a glamour model on the Street.

But first she tries her hand as a roller-skating promotions girl for a cherry vodka brand - as you do. Sounds a bit tacky, but perfect for Rosie. Flanagan, 19, told The Daily Mirror she was delighted with the new storyline:

"This is the perfect career for Rosie, she is like so many girls who read celeb mags and want to be like Katie Price."

"She is exploited by the photographer, but is not put off. She sees it as a way to make money quick without having to do much hard work," she added.

You can check out the video of Helen Flanagan learning to rollerskate and also view a gallery of her 'glamour' shots over at the official Corrie website, www.itv.com/corrie.

Fellas I'm warning you though you might need a lie down after viewing these saucy pics, especially the one where she's wearing a top that says 'Pop My Cherry'. Tasteful

Reece Dinsdale.jpgAs if Gail's family hasn't had enough water related heartache, it turns out that partner Joe McIntyre plans to fake his own death in the Lakes when tragedy strikes for real.

In a storyline similar to the real life case of canoeing insurance fraudster John Darwin, Joe apparently visits Lake Windermere for the launch of his revamped boat Gail Force as part of a plan to fake his own death so his family can claim the life insurance payout.

But the scam goes horribly wrong when Joe (played by Reece Dinsdale) is knocked unconscious by a sail pole and loses his life. Chris Dodd who played a detective in the storyline told The North West Evening Mail: "It was great, the set we did was a night-time scene and we played the detectives and officers who were standing around during the investigation."

Joe's desperate move comes after debt collectors threaten to harm his daughter Tina (played by Michelle Keegan) if he doesn't pay what he owes.

The Coronation Street scenes of Joe's death will go on air in around six weeks on ITV1.

RITA_SULLIVAN.jpgUPDATED 7.23PM: It turns out this was merely a story blown out of proportion by The Sun, and fans will be pleased to hear Rita is not retiring from the Kabin. An ITV spokesperson said: "We don't want to spoil the storyline for viewers, but rest assured Rita will not be permanently quitting the Kabin at all."

Rita Sullivan is set to step down from her role as newsagent in the Kabin after 36 years. The shock news broke today, and comes just a day after it was announced that Jack Duckworth is moving out of Coronation Street.

Rita will inform Norris and Emily of her retirement following Ramsay's wake, when she considers how short life can be. She tells them: "His death made me think about why I'm working at the shop when I don't need to. I'm fed up of working, I'm going to retire. I know I've said it before but this time I mean it and I won't be changing my mind."

This leaves the door in the Kabin open to some new faces, and Tina is expected to take up a bigger role in the running of the business. It is unclear yet if this will mean Rita's role in the show will be reduced.

What are your thoughts on the news? I'm hoping this doesn't mean we'll be seeing less of Rita now, and she will continue to play a significant part on the Street. Quite surprised at the decision, but in retrospect it is not too surprising as Rita is in her 70s now. Sound off below!

01_07_CORO_BEACH2.jpgITV.com's weekly behind-the-scenes video this week talks through the events leading up to the birth of Baby Connor with Samia Smith (Maria) and Gray O'Brien (Tony).

Maria and Tony head off for a walk on a deserted beach in the hope of bringing on the baby faster - only for Maria to go into labour right there and then!

"Maria's absolutely petrified when she realises she's in labour on the beach," says Samia. "But thank god she's got Tony there."

Gray adds: "I think it's Tony's true colours coming through. He really cares for Maria and he's obviously completely guilt-ridden about Liam's death, and he's trying to do everything he can to make amends."

Gray also discusses his shirtless role in the birth, and Samia adds how she hopes her birth will be different from Maria's!

* The ITV's Coronation Street website has had a major overhaul, and now looks fantastic! Well worth a look, there are great new character profiles in the process of being uploaded, with the each cast member doing a video description about their character, and much easier navigation around the site. Overall, much more modern and professional looking, hats off to ITV!
