Is it just me or does Molly, aka Vicky Binns, have a look of a young Helen Lederer? I think it's the eyes and the same wide face. No, just me then.
There's something about the hairstyles that make these two look eerily alike. One is made of plastic and the other one is a Playmobil character Ryan Connor.

Amber mentioned the other day on Corrie that she'd like to marry (gay) TV presenter Simon Amstell, which isn't terribly likely to happen but a girl can dream. For a while now I've thought Simon Amstell looked very like Corrie's own little Simon (not Simon Gregson! Behave yourselves. I mean Little Simon). In fact, if they ever make a film called "Simon Amstell; the Early Years," I think they should call Alex Bain's agent right away.

Jackie Dobbs has taken to referring to Auntie Pam as "Cherie," based on her resemblance to the wife of the former British prime minister, Cherie Blair.

While I can't quite see the resemblance between Amber Chadwick (Amy) and Kate Ford (Tracy), I've often noticed a similarity between Amy and Madonna's daughter, Lourdes. It's an eyebrow thing.
No-one was buying the resemblance between Robert Beck (Jimmy Dockerson) and David Coulthard, so what about this one? Surely the bald head, the eyebrows and the general aura of hypnotic ruthlessness make him a dead ringer for The Hood from Thunderbirds?

Ena Sharples is such a well known icon that anytime anyone appears in a hairnet, they are likened to the formidable ex-Coronation Street character. This week, it's a member of the Royal Family that's come under scrutiny. Zara Phillips, daughter of Anne, the Princess Royal, was spotted recently at a horse riding trials sporting a hairnet to keep her long, blonde locks under control. To be fair, she wore it under her helmet but you know what the paparazzi are like. The instant she removed the hat and revealed the netting which had slipped down on her forehead, the photographers went wild. Zara is a very good rider and was nearly an Olympic contender but her horse has suffered an injury. I don't think Ena Sharples had ever been on a horse in her life though maybe a donkey in Blackpool in her youth! Ena's original hairnet was sold off for charity. It's not known yet if Zara's will live on in infamy.
They could be brothers! Square-jawed Corrie new boy Robert Beck (who will play Tony Gordon's sidekick Jimmy Dockerson) could have been separated at birth from Formula 1 driver David Coulthard. Look at that pout! Or am I seriously deluded?

Remember a little while back, ITV was holding a competition for people who think they or their friends look like a Coronation Street character? The winner is a Chesney lookalike and the top five finalists are here on the ITV website. There's also a link to see all the entrants. The winners really do match their on screen counterparts well but there's a few of the non-finalists that were very close as well, including a Sophie lookalike. It's amazing how many people with smooth black hair and lots of eyeliner went in for the Michelle look. There's a couple of good Chesney and David lookalikes, too but it's amazing how many people, in my opinion, look very little like the person they are meant to resemble aside from the same colour hair. What do you think, readers?
Forget the curlers and the headscarf - it's the carefully plucked eyebrows and subtle way with lip gloss that makes these two really look alike.

As pointed out by sharp eyed commenter, Faith, here the other day, there does seem to be a resemblance between new Corrie producer Kim Crowther and former Coronation Street star Kate Ford. Sue and I agree, the resemblance is there. I haven't found a photo of Kim smiling outright but when they aren't in full grin, they sure do look like they could be sisters, especially around the eyes. What do you think, readers?

Seeing this picture of Our Deirdre illustrating Tuesday Trivia yesterday put me in mind of a strikingly similar hairstyle.
The perm in question (or is it natural?) belongs to 17 year old Garrett Haley, a contestant in the current season of American Idol. Sadly Garrett's vocal stylings failed to wow the American public and he was voted off last week.

Well, I did ask... Corrieblogger WB emailed to say she'd spotted an uncanny resemblance between the gorgeous Kym Ryder and bilingual children's TV favourite Dora the Explorer. She says "It must be the hair!!!"
The resemblance doesn't end there. The Nick Jr website says that "Dora is a problem solver who doesn't give up when faced with obstacles. She's a caring friend always ready to stop and help someone in need." Very much like Michelle Connor.

The Mirror has got itself all excited because Rob James-Collier's girlfriend Lauren Chandiram (or is she his fiancee? There seems to be some confusion) has dyed her hair. Apparently, you see, she used to have blonde-ish hair. Like Maria. And now she has dark hair. Like Carla. A Coronation Street "source" has told the Mirror, "We'd always known her as a fabulous-looking blonde. Now she has a look of Carla, which has given people a bit of a giggle."
I like a bit of a giggle as much as the next person, but I'm afraid I just can't see all that much of a resemblance between Lauren and Alison King. But maybe I'm just not seeing clearly through my tears, as I'm still trying to get over the shock of Rob leaving Corrie, plus the new shock of discovering that Lauren and her bichon frise dog have moved into Rob's "posh Manchester apartment." And that they want to set up a clothing business together.
Hang on - a clothing business? Maybe there are more Carla parallels than I thought...
Having only just met Coronation Street's new bookie Dan Mason, so to speak, I'm already struck by his resemblance to the golden-tonsilled king of the 60s big ballad and all round maverick genius, Scott Walker. And there's a bit of a Jason Donovan thing going on, too.
I noticed a peculiar similarity between the Hungarian builder, Miklos Zadic who had an affair with Emily Nugent in the 1960s and Dev Alahan, ladies' man legend in his own mind. Dev is certainly about the right age to be the secret love child of Coronation Street's favourite spinster, Emily Nugent. The resemblence is eerie! What do you think?

A little while ago on this site, Rosie Webster was reckoned to look a bit like Danni Minogue. While I couldn't really see it over much, I did read a suggestion today that Helen Flanagan resembles actress Mila Jovovich, at least in her younger years and I do agree with that. Mila's looks are a bit more exotic, but Helen has similar big blue eyes and pouty mouth. What do you think?
Since I started writing for Corrieblog, almost everybody in the world is beginning to resemble someone from Coronation Street. But I have been repeatedly struck by the notion that the lecherous lecturer himself, Mr John Stape (Graeme Hawley), has a bit of a resemblance to former Blur guitarist Graham Coxon. Particularly since he's adopted the contact lenses and trendier hair, the Stapester has been working that trendy/nerdy look to perfection.

Is it just me (yes, it probably is, darn these varifocals) but does Coronation Street's loveable landlord Steve MacDonald (Simon Gregson) bear an uncanny resemblance to pop prince Robbie Williams?
You can see Robbie here talking about Corrie. Seems he hasn't seen it for about ten years, but "anything sponsored by Cadbury is all right by me." So we know he likes chocolate, but does he get his furniture from Harvey's? That's what we need to know now.

You can blame The Sun for this one. They claim that the woman on the left is Kym Ryder (Michelle Connor)'s "televisual twin."
She's Karen Taylor, from BBC3's Touch Me, I'm Karen Taylor, and apparently is "northern," like Kym. As far as I can see that's about the only resemblance, apart from the hairstyle. What do you think? Were Karen and Kym separated at birth? Or is it just a hair thing?

I've long held the opinion that Coronation Street's loveable mechanic was the long-lost love child of cinematic hardman Ray Winstone. It's the cute, twinkly brown eyes and the pugnacious jawline.
I love Tyrone because he has a heart of gold. He's moral and honest and loyal, which is why he's currently all in a stew about creepy Paul Clayton's intentions towards the Duckworths. Maybe he should get in touch with his celebrity lookey-likey Mr Winstone, who plays private investigator Vincent Gallagher in Vincent, alongside Corrie's very own Suranne Jones. Between the three of them I reckon they'd soon sort out the slimey chef.
