Backdrop I just had a look through the Corrie Fun Websites and also the Corrie Fun & Games sections of Corrieblog and I can't believe nobody's posted a link to this website yet! "Coronation St. Fun Pages" is a website run by Christine in Winnipeg, Canada and she posts lots of puzzles and photos and quizzes regularly on her pages. There's always a trivia quiz and a pin up, there are recipes and a jigsaw puzzle. Christine  puts a lot of work and a lot of love into her website and it's great fun to check out!

Today, Ben wrote about Yana Lumb, his favourite character.  Well, Check out the pin-up section of the Fun Pages, it will only be online for a week or two unless we can convince the host of the site to make it a permanent page. Jane Tuncliffe sent Christine a photo and scans of Corrie-related prints that she does and sells!

Birds If you've ever fancied a muriel like Hilda Ogden's and need the flying ducks to go with it, you could always have a look on eBay Gum to see what you can find. Or, you could go with the retro option and buy this fantastic flock at £13.50 each. Hilda's famous Coronation Street flying ducks have also been given the Ted Baker treatment too.

Fantasy_league_tv On me ‘ead, son. We've found an online fantasy football game but it’s not the usual sort where you can pick your footy heroes to join your team. You get to pick your favourite soap characters, including all the ones from Coronation Street. Points are earned for your team depending on your soap-star football-star’s on-screen actions such as buying a drink (like Rita Sullivan), getting into a fight (Adam Barlow) and kissing (Maria Sutherland). You can also bump up your points by taking part in the quiz. Points are totalled every week and your team moves up or down the league table. At the end of every month the top teams win the prizes. A quick look at the scoreboard today shows that this week’s top scorer player is Steve McDonald, closely followed by Liam Connor, Leanne Battersby and Maria Sutherland. Backdrop I just had a look through the Corrie Fun Websites and also the Corrie Fun & Games sections of Corrieblog and I can't believe nobody's posted a link to this website yet! "Coronation St. Fun Pages" is a website run by a lady in Winnipeg, Canada and she posts lots of puzzles and photos and quizzes regularly on her pages. There's always a trivia quiz and a pin up, there are recipes and a jigsaw puzzle. This lady puts a lot of work and a lot of love into her website and it's great fun to check out!

Coronationstreetsecrets I have quite a vast collection of Coronation Street dvds that I've accumulated over the years. Most recently, I've bought the box sets from the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s, a series that Network video released in the U.K.  It's wonderful to see random episodes from so far back and really interesting to see how the characters have developed over the years. It's also fascinating to compare the differences in the production, set decoration, and fashion/hair styles. The 1960 set contains every episode from 1960 (episode 1 through 7) and the first one from 1961 to make up the 8 on the 1960 disk.
Click through to read more about the various Corrie dvd's available in the U.K. and North America.

Soapshowlogo The second Coronation Street podcast has now gone live at The Soap Show. The Corrie podcast is called Word on the Street and you can sign up at The Soap Show to receive the podcast automatically as it’s updated each month. Enjoy!

By 'eck, the Coronation Street cat looks a bit odd this morning. This fab Coronation Street spoof picture was spotted online here.

Soap_show_logo For those who like to be kept up to date with the goings on in Coronation Street, there are many ways to do this. There's the official ITV site, Corrie visual updates, Glenda's weekly update and short and sweet episode reviews written exclusively for Corrieblog.

And now, there's also a podcast of events from the cobbles available at The Soap Show's internet radio site. The first monthly Corrie podcast has just gone live and is available for your listening pleasure at The Soap Show website here.

Audrey_bill_webster_kissing_2 Have you noticed how Scissor Sisters songs are often played in Coronation Street scenes set in Audrey's hair salon? You have? Want to see Corrie crimper Audrey Roberts dance along to one of their songs with Bill Webster? You do? Click here and enjoy!  (Don't forget to click the buttons to change their hair-dos).

Wiki Have you ever visited Wikipedia? It's the Internet encyclopedia that's free to use and edit. There are already a number of Coronation Street pages on many topics such as controversial storylines, The Kabin and the Weatherfield Arms! The main Corrie article even featured on the front page of the website back in 2004.

Anyone can edit Wikipedia, so if any Corrieblog readers fancy adding something...go for it!

Do you think that Norris should add Wikipedia to his list of favourite websites, along with Classmates Reunited? [Elsie Tanner]

Bet_lynch_jack_duckworth_vera_duckworth__1 Browsing th’internet t’other day in between episodes of Coronation Street, I found the wonderful TV Fetish website. If you haven’t had a look at it, get yourself over there now, especially to see the pictures in their Coronation Street section. There are some wonderful pictures from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s, a section dedicated to Rovers Return barmaid Bet Lynch, a section on Street weddings and even a section dedicated to something that’s probably best-forgotten - the Corrie production of Oliver!

Drinking There's a website here that has some very odd pictures indeed. It's called Befuddle: The Home of Drunk Celebs and has pictures of celebrities, including some from Coronation Street, either in a state of inebriation or just drinking something innocent like fruit juice either in real life on on-screen.

If you have one of those moments in your day when you fancy browsing th'internet for the sake of it, have a look here for some very odd pics of Tina O'Brien (Sarah Platt), Samia Smith (Maria Sutherland) and ex-Corrie stars Suranne Jones (Karen McDonald) and Tracy Shaw (Maxine Peacock). And when you've seen the drinking pictures, do you want to see pictures of Corrie celebs smirking tabs?

Craig_harris_14 There's a website here where you can print out and dress your very own Richard Fleeshman doll.

Or, if dressing the Corrie Goth doesn't do it for you, what about putting clothes on Gail Platt?

Question_mark_coronation_street_2 Who would you crown Queen of Coronation Street? Annie Walker? Elsie Tanner? Rita Littlewood? Bet Lynch?

Or perhaps, as I spotted over at Digital Spy, it might be this person here?

Charlie_stubbs_pensive_3 Here's another wonderfully funny little video all about Charlie Stubbs and his love for the older ladies on Coronation Street.

It's brought to you by Corrie fan Susan who also brought you this little homage to the forbidden love of Janice Battersby and Danny Baldwin!  Great stuff.

Janice_battersby_baldDanny_baldwin_17Don't click here if you're of a nervous disposition!

It will take you to a wonderful little homage to the Coronation Street love that could have been... Janice Battersby and Danny Baldwin.

Mr_wong_menu_1 A few months ago we featured some fab behind the scenes photos from a Canadian fan's visit to the Coronation Street set. If you missed them you can have a look at them here
And now, we've found more fab photos to share with other Corrie fans.  Have a look here to see some familiar Corrie scenes, up close and personal, like this menu from the inside of Mr Wong's chippy where Cilla and Yana work.    As you may know, the Coronation Street set is now closed to the public so we're hugely grateful to any fans who are lucky enough to get a VIP visit to the set and can send us a link to their photos to share on Corrieblog!

Chesney_battersby_brown_with_dog_1 How well do you know the Battersby’s?

There’s a Coronation Street quiz here where you can take the test to discover how well you know the loud-mouth family from the Cobbles. I did quite well and scored a whopping 9 out of 10!

Jamie_baldwin_realJamie_baldwin_real_bum_1There's a website here that says you can put your questions to the lovely Rupert Hill, better known as Corrie's Jamie Baldwin.  (No, Gemma, you can't ask him that!) You simply pop your question onto the online form and send it through the online super information bypass where it'll get stuck on the hard shoulder for a while before Rupert replies.  But he will, apparantly. And you can ask him anything. Go on then Gemma, we dare you.

Corrie3There are some amazing pictures from Coronation Street days gone by on Sky Clearbrook's fab blog, Avenues and Alleyways here. (This one of Hilda isn't included but it's from the same era and I love it.) Those pictures of Bet and Lucille in their hotpants are enough to make your eyes water. Kylie Minogue - eat your heart out! And yet more Corrie gold in his previous post here where he muses on Archie Street, Salford, which inspired the Weatherfield set. You can also check out a run down of actors who have appeared as more than one character in The Street. Great work Sky, look forward to lots more, and yes I had better mention the fruity language. Please do proceed to other part's of Sky's blog with caution if you're offended by a little swearing. But that's not many of us, now is it? [Linda]

Downing_street_sign_1 Has Coronation Street gone soft and headed south?  Course not!

But with all the petty political shenanigans going on at the moment, it’s no wonder that some see Downing Street as being the perfect location for the country’s new soap opera.

I found this sign on this here blog and thought I’d share it with Corrie fans.

Soaps on a Plane

Vaguely Amusing? or Slightly Offensive? I wasn’t sure which (although I reckon a bit of both) so have a look at it online here.  This isn't a pic that we've made here on Corrieblog, but one that we stumbled across earlier today on t'internet.

Ena_sharples_waving There’s an online voting poll here to find out which is the best of the two soaps – Coronation Street or Eastenders. Here at Corrieblog we’ve already voted for our favourite soap and it wasn’t the one featuring those miserable, soft, shandy-drinking southerners.  Go and cast your vote online now, your soap needs you!

No, this isn’t a picture of Mr Flaming and my good self at home in front of the telly. Fortunately, we’re both big fans of Coronation Street – and of football – and since we got Sky+ we never argue any more about who watches what.  But if you like the look of this Corrie cartoon, there’s plenty more where this came from on the Coronation Street Cartoons website.  If you like quirky Corrie websites, do have a look at our Corrie Fun Websites section and if you know of any that we haven't featured yet, do email and let me know.

Peter_barlow_2 There’s an online quiz here where you can find out which member of the Barlow family you most closely resemble.  I’ve just done it and it pegged me as Peter Barlow. Peter Barlow?  But I’m a lay-dee, you know!  Well, at least I wasn’t Blanche (aka Uncle Albert without the 'tache)! Let us know which one it says you are.
