Comments are still not working on Corrieblog. Photos are taking an age to upload as well, which is why some posts may not be illustrated! As we can't do a proper yay or nay this week, I thought I'd do a little poll instead.

aerialstreetsetoverview_1.jpgOk, it's the ladies' turn up to bat at the Corrieblog poll. Last week's poll about the sexy men was fun, wasn't it? Jason Grimshaw has a healthy lead and Tony and Luke are closely in second place. Which of the female Coronation Street characters floats your boat? There's quite a few to choose from and all are sexy in their own way, some more obvious than others! We've included a few that are on maternity leave because they'd be on the list anyway. Please feel free to email us your comments on inclusions or exclusions and why you voted the way you did.

There's lots of past surveys here if you're curious to see outcomes.

aerialstreet2.jpgWe haven't done one of these for awhile, have we? Ok, who's your favourite sexy guy on the cobbles of Coronation Street? Are you attracted by the ginger Gary? The mature dangerousness of Tony? Maybe the upstanding citizen Ben is more your type? Feel free to comment and let us know why you picked your choice or add on someone you think should have made the short list. In a few days we'll do a poll for the sexy women on the street.

CarlaUglyWeddingHat.jpgI don't know why I submit myself to looking at these lists of the sexiest women in soaps. Well, yes, I do know. So that I can report on it for you fans out there. I'm constantly doing a head-desk connection when I see who's made the list and who hasn't. This one, from What's On TV (via Soaplife magazine), purports to be the 100 Sexiest Soap Girls of *All Time*. Yet, there isn't one that was on a soap before 1990 and precious few that were on our screens before 2000 (yes, I'm annoyed about that). There are a small majority of women over 40 and not an Elsie Tanner in the lot (and yes, I'm annoyed about that too)! Many of them were unknown to me but even so, I questioned the ranking of some of them but then, it's all subjective, isn't it? Certainly the women on that list are indeed sexy. The soaps were EastEnders, Coronation Street, Hollyoaks, Emmerdale, Home and Away and Neighbours. I wonder yet again, if the reason some of these women are so high on the list are due to good publicity agents. Twenty three actresses who have appeared on Corrie over the years are on the list. That's pretty good odds, isn't it? Anyway, the Coronation Street ladies, with their ranking, are behind the cut below.

In one of the comments to yesterday's Fan of the Week feature, regular reader Faith remarked on the wide appeal of Coronation Street across the generations and suggested a survey. Good idea, and here it is! Please just vote the once so we can get an idea of who visits and reads Corrieblog!

weddingtracyroy.jpgTracy Barlow, as played by Kate Ford, got up to quite a few antics in her few years on the show. This poll wonders what your favourite Tracy storyline was, in the Kate Ford era. She started off with a bang, having a fling with Dev and not realizing that Dev had also had a one night stand with her mother the year before. She had a relationship with Dev but when he dumped her, she cut up all his clothes and later exposed her mother's fling to Ken. She got a slap from Blanche for that and things just went on a roller coaster from there. So which Tracy scam was your favourite?

billmaureen2006.jpgIn honour of Valentine's Day, I thought a poll was in order. I was thinking about Coronation Street couples and how some are really not suited to each other like Nick and Leanne, Steve and Vicky, Bet and Alec or Gail and just about anyone! There are also odd couples, some of which seem to work and some that don't but probably won't or didn't go the distance such as Liz and Vernon, Curly and Raquel or Maxine and Ashley. Then again, some couples seem to be the perfect match for each other... the lid and jar, both halves of a pair of scissors. With that in mind, a poll for your entertainment. Which of these couples do you think was perfectly suited to each other? Which do you think had the perfect chemistry? Couples that went or will go the distance? If there are any we missed, do comment and add your choice!

Last week, we told you all about Harry Mason, the new bookie on Coronation Street. Harry is going to be a ladies' man and his portrayer, Jack Ellis, expects he'll be involved with at least one of the Street's fairer sex. Who do you think Harry will be holding hands with first?

cilla-thumb.jpegIt's been about six weeks since we saw the back of Cilla, heading for Las Vegas. I wondered what Cilla's fate would be. Would she make a success of it? Would she fall flat on her backside? Would she be running scams and chasing fellas like always? Would she be pining for Chesney and rainy Weatherfield in the winter? Is she staying out of the sun so she won't get skin cancer again? Inquiring minds want to know what you think? Fill out the poll through the link or add a comment and tell us what you think Cilla's fate is!

While watching a dvd of Coronation Street clips recently, I watched a segment on some of the deaths on screen over the years. Some of them never fail to bring a lump to my throat and it inspired me to post this poll. Which Corrie death has moved you the most? These choices were the ones that affected me and I wondered if any of them were your most memorable? Do comment and explain or tell us your choice if it's not on this list.

The Big Northern Vote

blackpoolTower.jpgThere's an interesting survey being held at Salford's Lowry Gallery, both in person and online. As part of their feature, The Myth of the North, they are looking for people, places and things that personify the North of England, icons, if you will. The Manchester Evening News reports that so far, Coronation Street is leading the television category. Was there ever any doubt? Les and Cilla Battersby show up in the Fictional Characters section but if I had been nominating people, I'd have gone for the Ogdens or Ena Sharples! Old Trafford is running second to Liverpool's Liver building but the Blackpool Tower has been nominated. I think that's more representative of the North in my mind but that's probably because of the Corrie connection. Go on over to the voting site and put in your 2 pennorth for Corrie!

Which Coronation Street grandmother could swop cobbles for catwalk?

Oh, go on, there must be one of them you like. Even just a tiny bit?

AlisonKing.jpgHello there Coronation Street viewers! Hope you all had a good weekend! I did! To start your week off, I thought I would ask for your opinion. I was thinking about relative newcomer characters to the Street and wondering which of these characters has made it to your favourites list. All of the characters seem to have their own following here on Corrieblog. One or two have been in the show a little longer than others (like Molly and Amber) but most have arrived in the past year and they run the gamut in age from teen to pensioner. Tell us what you think and there's a spot in there to add your own choice! Also, do you enjoy these polls? Should we have them more often?
