fotw-128.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Christina Clark from Maple Ridge, B.C. Canada, pictured here with her daughter, who picked up an English accent from Corrie!

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
Since the very early 90's... but my mother was watching it well before that, so it was always on. When I first started to watch it, I couldn't understand a lot of what was said because of the accents... and I definitely never could understand anything Jim McDonald said!! But now everything is as clear as a bell to me. When my daughter was a toddler she even started saying quite a few words with an English accent!

Who's your favourite character?
My all time favorite is Bet Gilroy! What a great flawed character! I also really liked Percy, Alf, Raquel, Reg, Spider, Fred and Karen. From today's characters I like Steve, Eileen, Fiz, Kirk, Tyrone and Blanche, and of course Roy and Hayley (Jason isn't hard to look at either).

BetHildaVera.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Donna Dusome, also known as Cobbler, from Newcastle, Ontario, Canada.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I have been watching Corrie probably since the 70's and when I married, 12 years ago, brought my husband into the fold. He is now an avid fan too.

Who's your favourite character?
My favourite character is/was Bet Lynch. She always brought fun and drama into the Street.

maggie-jones-297.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Mark Fell.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
Since I was a little boy - and I'm now 44. My first memory is of the Rovers bus trip to Blackpool when the coach crashed. I loved the old days when Corrie was much more simple and relatively carefree.

Who's your favourite character?
At this very moment in time, I would say that I love Blanche the most. Her lines are superb and Maggie Jones' acting skills are legendary. When she met Roy Cropper on the doorstep with baby Patience/Amy, she looked at him in a way that was half contempt and half pity. That look summed up more than any words could have ever said at that moment and reminded me of the old silent films stars and the song from Sunset Boulevard, "With one look."

eileen-jason-holly-217.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Corrieblog regular commentator, Sue B, who lives in the UK.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
On and off since the 1960s. I started watching regularly just after Hilda Ogden left (I couldn't stand her). I used to have dinner after work on a Monday evening at my then new in-laws, and would always watch Corrie, and then not see it for a week (it was only shown on Mondays and Wednesdays then) and then one day there was a really good story, and the rest, as they say, is history.

Who's your favourite character?
Eileen, a much underused character. Given the right encouragement from the writers she could become another Vera, rather than Tyrone and Molly who are beginning to go past their sell-by date with me.

12_05_carla-liam-3.jpgThis week's Corrie fan of the week is Clare Hamilton, who is 17 and has ambitions to be a Coronation Street scriptwriter.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street for?
Ever since I can remember to be honest. Been brought up on Corrie really. It's simply the best television show on British television.

Who's your favourite character?
Without a shadow of a doubt it's got to be Carla Connor. Ali King plays her excellently! Carla is such an interesting character. One of the reasons I tune into Corrie so religiously is to see what's happening with Carla. I must also say that I also enjoy watching Rosie, David, Tina, Becky and Eileen!

JackVera.jpgThis week we have another Canadian Coronation Street fan of the week. Are Canadians just more keen to spread the Corrie love, I wonder? She's Sue Worrall, from Ingersoll, Ontario.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
Since 1989, but my hubby, who is from England brought me up to date as he grew up watching the Street.

Who's your favourite character?
It would have to be Jack and Vera - but way back when I loved Reg Holdsworth and enjoyed watching Fred's antics also.

mike-lake.jpgThis week's Corrie fan of the week is Mike Lake, from Canada, who says Coronation Street is his "secret passion."

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I've watched ever since it began airing in Canada. At first it caught my eye because Uncle Albert, Ena Sharples, etc reminded me of my grandparents and relatives. I borrowed the first few years of the show from the library and believe that I've seen every episode made.

Who's your favourite character?
I'd have to say that my favourite character is Jack Duckworth. My wife always said that she and I are just like the Duckies, so Vera's death was especially heartbreaking to me.

Frank Helden.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Betty Helden from the beautiful city of Vancouver, Canada. The photo is of her father, Frank, and it was thanks to his gift of the gab that Betty found herself actually on the Street!

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I've been watching Coronation Street since it started. Back when I was just 12 months old Coronation Street came on Canadian TV. Of course I had no choice in the matter - I tell people I was "brainwashed" to watch Coronation Street ! I used to hate that whiny music of the introduction of Coronation Street, but now it relaxes me! I used to watch it before I went for an afternoon nap when I was a toddler and later in years I would run home after school and watch it. Now my children watch it - who would have thought that would happen? Unfortunately we are 8-9 months behind, which really vexes me.

eileen-steve-116.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Louise Tribble from London, Ontario, Canada.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I started watching the Street way back in the 60's, I can remember watching Elsie Tanner getting married and I think it was around Christmas time. I watched until we came to Canada in 1966, found it again when I had my children in the early 80's and have watched ever since. In fact my daughter, who is 27, is hooked on it and she has gotten her husband hooked too.

Who's your favourite character?
My favourite character/characters... well Elsie Tanner for one, Norris, Rita, Betty, Claire and Ashley, and I loved Fred Elliot. But my favourites are Steve and Eileen....now there would be a story line!

Becky2.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Leighton Walker, a 19 year-old literature student from Essex, England.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I've been watching Corrie since I can remember - but only really got into as a big fan a couple of years ago. The first big storyline I can remember was Alma dying of cancer.

Who's your favourite character?
My favourite character is probably Becky. She has some superb dialogue, I only wish they'd give her more storylines! And Katherine Kelly plays her brilliantly. I also like Carla. She's fantastic and has so many sides to her.

Karen2.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Jack Caples, who is 18 and lives in New Zealand.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
Since 1997. My first memory of watching Corrie is when Alma got driven into the Irwell, and when the Battersbys first arrived.

Who's your favourite character?
My all time favourite character is Karen McDonald. She was hard, feisty and was played excellently by Suranne Jones. I want her to return. But my favourite character at present is Leanne Battersby. She's my dream girlfriend, which sounds bizarre but true, and she was my first celebrity crush when I was young.

This week's Corrie fan of the week is Alex Steele, who is 22 and a student of French and German at Cambridge University. He says Coronation Street is "a key part of my TV viewing. Most of my friends at uni mock me for watching it religiously but I blame the parents - I've grown up watching it!"

michelle-keegan-215.jpg How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I can remember storylines as far back as the very early 90s - one of the first I really remember was the death of Lisa Duckworth and subsequent "sale" of Tommy to the Hortons by Terry.

Who's your favourite character?
My favourite current character would have to be Tina - she has all the right attributes for a Corrie character - humour, feistiness and sensitivity. Not to mention the fact that I think Michelle Keegan is gorgeous!

What's been your Corrie highlight or favourite story?
My favourite story would have to be the Richard Hillman one, mainly because it involved so many people and, unlike some of the more recent long-term storylines, never became tedious.

peter-145.jpgThis week's Corrie fan of the week is Peter Burt, who is a primary school teacher and a regular contributor to Corrieblog's comments. He's even added his own question to the fan of the week questions - but why not?

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
Since i can remember, which would be back in 1991 or 92. I have memories of Phyllis Pearce trying to woo Percy Sugden on what seemed like a regular basis, all to no avail!

Who's your favourite character?
I have many favourite characters generally. Tina McIntyre, Becky Granger, Carla Connor, Doreen Fenwick (where IS she?!) and Leanne Battersby amongst many others. My ultimate favourite however has to be the hilarious Blanche Hunt. Her one-liners are Corrie gold. The exasperation she causes for Deirdre and her general take on the outloook of life in Weatherfield is top quality.

carla 18-Jan.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Chris Leonard from Bristol, UK.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
Since I was eight back in 1999, and the first memories I have of it are the end of Mike and Alma Baldwin's marriage and Judy Mallet's untimely and tragic death.

Who's your favourite character?
My favourite current character has got to be the fabulous Carla Connor. In my opinion, she resembles what a classic Street lady should be: tough, feisty and determined. I also love the fact that she is the first lady of Underworld as well! From the past, I would say probably Elsie Tanner, as Pat Phoenix truly was the Queen of Soaps.

What's been your Corrie highlight or favourite story?
There are so many highlights to chose from. Richard Hillman's reign of terror was brilliantly done, as was Tracy Barlow's deadly revenge on Charlie Stubbs. It was also nice to welcome back Denise Osborne last year as she sounded to be a great character and indeed she was. Apart from that anything with Carla in and a great one-liner from battleaxe Blanche!

David Gail.jpgThis week's Corrie fan of the week is Chris Howard, from Ireland. He's 16 and says, "I am a soap addict, and Corrie is without doubt my favourite."

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I've watched Corrie for over 10 years.

Who's your favourite character?
Gail is my favourite character. She is a Corrie icon and I love Helen Worth who plays her. She always has the best storylines, she's brilliant. I quite like Ashley too.

What's been your Corrie highlight or favourite story?
All of Gail's storylines. The Richard Hillman one was fab. The Ashley and Casey storyline was good too.

alison-king.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Megan Mills, who lives in England (nice and specific there, Megan!).

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I've been watching Coronation Street for as long as I can remember. My parents used to watch it, so I grew up watching it. I've been watching Corrie on a regular basis and been more interested in it for the past few years.

Who's your favourite character?
I don't really have a favourite character, but if I had to choose it would be Carla Connor (played by Alison King) because she is such a strong character.

norris-cole.jpgThis week's Corrie fan of the week is John Brunton, who once got into trouble for peering into Gail Platt's garage!

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I first started watching Corrie aged six, in 1991. I was allowed to stay up late to watch it when it was on, and have watched it ever since.

Who's your favourite character?
This is really hard to decide because I have so many characters I just absolutely love. It would have to be Norris Cole, he makes me laugh all the time. I honestly can't think of a single episode he's been in where I have not started laughing at his quirky lines. Hes fab!

What's been your Corrie highlight or favourite story?
The Tracy/Charlie storyline was my favourite of all time. It was written really well and acted superbly. I always liked the way Tracy was evil and she was the perfect character to enact such revenge on a man. She often appeared soft on the outside but she was hard as nails on the inside. I liked that.

CurlyRaquel.jpgThis week's Corrie fan of the week is Michele Hay, from Stoney Creek, Ontario, Canada.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I have been watching Corrie for about 25 or more years! In Canada we are about six or seven months behind the current episodes of Coronation Street, but I never miss watching an episode.

Who's your favourite character?
I have many favourite characters....Raquel & Curly, Katie and her family, Craig & Rosie, Elsie Tanner, Danny and Frankie, Dennis, Ena Sharples, and of course who could forget Bet Lynch and Hilda Ogden...just about everyone is my favourite.

gok-wan.jpgThe Mirror is reporting today that TV fashion expert Gok Wan wants to makeover the cast of a British soap. He says, "I would like to do a revamp of a soap. In America they are impeccably dressed. Over here they all wear the most awful clothes. I would like to get down and dirty with them and make them look like Hollywood starlets."

I wonder if he got the idea from Corrieblog? Only last week our Fan of the Week, Suzanne Ackermann, suggested that she'd love to see Gok Wan making-over the Corrie women. "No more polo necks for Gail," she suggested for starters.

suzanne-a.jpgThis week's Corrie fan of the week is Suzanne Ackermann - and her claim to fame is that she was almost Tracy Barlow! As she explains, "Christabel Finch [the first girl to play Tracy] was a year above me at school. When I was about five, Granada came to our school looking for a little girl for a new drama they were making called Studio. I was selected to be in it for one episode. Unfortunately it died in the ratings and was never seen again! However on the back of this great success, my mum asked if I could be considered for Tracy as Christabel was moving. I don't remember much of anything but I was seen by the producers but looked too little for the part and thus my professional acting career ended!"

Liam-Connor.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Maddy Liddelow, from the UK. And she's rather keen on Rob James-Collier...

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
For as long as I can remember, really. I have grown up watching the show as my parents watch it. It is an excellent soap and I thoroughly enjoy the storylines/scripts.

Who's your favourite character?
My all time favourite character in all the world is Liam Connor played by the irresistible Rob James-Collier. He is my life. His character shows such emotion, such passion and is so convincing. I love him so much that I have dedicated a website to him! He is also so intense. If only he were mine!!

steve-mcdonald.jpgThis week's Corrie fan of the week is Kathy McNab, from Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. She says she's such a huge Coronation Street fan that, "people make fun of me, but I dont care because I love it!"

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I have been watching Corrie for as long as I can remember. I am 27 and my parents are from Belfast so they have always watched. My first memory is of Kevin and Sally first meeting after he splashed her with his motorbike.

Who's your favourite character?
My favourite character is Steve McDonald! He makes me laugh more than anybody on the show and he seems to be one of the good guys!
