Ex-Corrie actor Bill Ward is to exhibit the photos of Manchester he took while working on the soap. Bill used to play builder Charlie Stubbs, until he passed away following to a Tracy Barlow/ art deco ornament interface, but before his character expired he used to take pictures on his walk to the set.
Bill says: 'I used to live in Castlefield and I would walk to work along the canal paths. My character was an unpleasant piece of work so I liked keeping keeping myself to myself and staying undercover. I saw that there were so many beautiful routes in Manchester to photograph. I'm an actor who takes photographs, rather than the other way round!"
Many of the pictures make up a show called Passing Through which will be at an art fair in Spinningfields, Manchester in September and, you know what, they're quite good. Who'd have thunk it?
