Bill Tarmey statue to grace new Coronation Street studios

It's being reported that a statue of late Corrie legend Bill Tarmey is being planned for the soap's new Salford Quays studios.

Bill, who died last November after playing Jack Duckworth for 31 years, is to be immortalised in copper. It seems that the statue will be paid for by Corrie cast and crew but there are no further details of the plan at this stage.
