Former Corrie actor Andrew Lancel, who played nasty factory boss Frank Foster until earlier this year has been charged with 5 counts of child sex abuse.
The alleged offences date back 20 years and apparently involve a person under 16 years of age. Lancel says that he 'strenuously denies' all of the allegations and his solicitor Stuart Nolan said: 'Mr Lancel was invited by police to co-operate with an inquiry by one complainant about events that allegedly took place over 20 years ago. He is confident his innocence will be established in the fullness of time.'
Lancel was charged by Merseyside Police under his real name Andrew Watkinson and has been bailed until 19th of December, when he will appear at Sefton Magistrates' Court.
