brooke vincent awards.jpgCorrie actress Brooke Vincent has been in contact with a wheelchair user to prepare for an upcoming storyline where her character Sophie Webster is injured in a traffic accident.

Sophie will be wheelchair-bound after she is hit by a car during a night out with Ryan Connor (Sol Heras) and to prepare for the scenes Brooke spoke to community support officer Jamie Rhind, who lost the use of his legs at 19 after an accident.

She told The Scotsman: "It has been really hard and, for me personally - it's been so restraining on what you can actually do. You can't put socks on or anything. I just don't know how people cope."

Sophie's accident will air in coming weeks and Sophie's recuperation will be a major storyline.
