Not before time, Tina O'Brien makes a bid to return to Coronation Street

It had to happen, didn't it? Ever since Tina O'Brien left Weatherfield 5 years ago it's been apparent to even the most casual Corrie fan that she would be back. Now she's putting in her pitch to return.

Her character, Sarah-Louise Platt left for Milan (as far as we can remember) after being dumped at the altar by Jason Grimshaw (or was it Todd, hard to recall). But now Tina looks ready to return to the soap, she told the Daily Mirror: "I had the best eight years ever on Corrie, I loved it. But I had been there since I left high school at 16 and felt I had to go. It was all I'd known and I had to get out and experience the big wide world. But now that I'm older, yes, I would LOVE the opportunity to go back one day. Sometimes I think they could bring Sarah-Lou back but with a different face, played by someone else. That happens - but it would be awful!"

If that isn't a bare-faced attempt to reclaim her old role then we'll be a monkey's uncle.
