It's being reported that Weatherfield's favourite café owner, bat and train expert and holdall-clutcher Roy Cropper (David Neilson) is to be seduced by oddball competition-entering, mobile home-dweller Mary Taylor (Patti Clare).
It seems that when Roy's wife Hayley (Julie Hesmondhalgh) and object-of-Mary's-unreciprocated-affections Norris Cole (Malcolm Hebden) start taking dancing classes together Mary decides to make a play for Roy.
Inside Soap is quoting an insider as saying: "Mary has impeccable taste - she likes her fellas cultured and sophisticated. Roy is a triple threat - he's clever, successful and has a lot of interests, so it's not hard to see why Mary is smitten".
And of her chances of seducing Roy: "One problem could be Mary's eagerness. Roy won't react well to her throwing herself at him like she has with Norris. He's only interested in friendship, but Mary finds it difficult to conceal her passion."
Sounds like it could be classic Corrie either way.
