Simon Gregson says that the Coronation Street writers love dumping on Steve

In an interview with the Daily Star, Corrie actor Simon Gregson has said that the show's writers love 'dumping a bucket of s**t' on his character, Steve McDonald.

Talking about Steve's disastrous love life he said: 'There's a great line where Steve says that he collects ex-wives like his brother collected stamps. That sums Steve up. The writers love dumping a bucket of s**t on him. Each woman comes along and it's just a different way of making him suffer. But do you know what? I love that about him. I love that the writers will never let him be happy.'

In the past couple of weeks Steve has fallen out with new wife Tracy Barlow and lost any chance of reconciliation with ex Becky. After 4 unsuccessful marriages (and even more wedding ceremonies, if you count the ones that were interrupted) it certainly seems that Steve's woes are far from over.
