Comments (1)

The TV drama 'The Road to Coronation Street' which was shown in the UK last year has won a gold medal New York Festivals International Television and Film Awards. The programme, which featured Eastenders star Jessie Wallace as Pat Phoenix, was scripted by Corrie writer Daran Little and made to coincide with the Street's 50th anniversary celebrations. It outlined the travails Corrie creator Tony Warren had to go through to get the show up and running and was shown on BBC4.

It's the second award the show has won after it was awarded Best Single Drama at the Royal Television Society Programme Awards.
