Watch out for The Sun's Buzz magazine tomorrow which features interviews with Brooke Vincent and Sacha Parkinson who play Coronation Street's first lesbian couple, Sophie Webster and Sian Powers.
In the interview the pair talk about being best friends both on-screen and off, as well as the how the role has taught them a lot about stigma and prejudice. "There was a closed set when we filmed that first kiss, and maybe it was easier than an on-screen kiss with a man we'd fancied," says Vincent.
Brooke Vincent also exclusively reveals how playing one of the street's first lesbians had opened her eyes to the challenges faced by the gay and lesbian community: "One girl said that she had found the courage to come out after Sophie did. It's amazing to think what I do as a job is helping other people."
