British Soap Awards 2010 - just three awards for Coronation Street

Comments (3)

Not a great night for Coronation Street at this year's British Soap Awards. Corrie scooped just three gongs (compared to EastEnders' 10 gongs) including one for Michelle Keegan who plays Tina McIntyre. She was voted Sexiest Female.

Other awards went to Craig Gazey who scooped Best Comedy Performance for his role as Graeme Procter and a Lifetime Achievement Award for Betty Driver who plays Betty Williams. Tweeted Craig Gazey: "Chuffed for my win but gutted that corrie won very little! Nevermind, heads held high! Up the corrie!"

I am not surprised that Corry didn't take much in at the awards. What is happening with the story lines? Some go nowhere lately, They just fall flat. I love the show..dont get me wrong. Plus, we are a year behind you. I am hoping the writting improves. I also hope none of the regulars get the axe. I love them all...cept Gail..she is a bore. lol

I am not one bit surprised that eastenders was voted best soap. Over the last few years I have come to realise what a sad bunch of people the British viewing public are, if they enjoy this pathetic drivel. I suppose we must forgive the scriptwriters at the moment as most of them surely are having to go to school(thats's about the level of believability) but surely they can come up with something better during the holidays

Sexiest female? Debbie Rush(Anna Windass), by far. She absolutely oozes sex appeal
