Following the sad news of Maggie Jones' death, here's a YouTube tribute to the actress who played the late, great Blanche Hunt. Maggie first entered Coronation Street in 1974 and in the first clip (she looks very different from how she looked in much later episodes) you can see her slapping Deirdre's then husband Ray Langton. Starting as she meant to go on then!!

Thanks so much for this tribute as I've replayed it several times and enjoyed it more than the last. I shall truly miss Maggie, but Blanche will live on as no one can ever deliver those one liners like she did. What makes Corrie so outstanding is when someone passes away it's like losing a member of your own family. That speaks volumes to the quality of acting as most times we forget they are acting.
Maggie's character, as Blanche, was the most enjoyable character on Corrie. Her quick wit, and tell like it is attitude was real and refreshing. Of all the actresses and actors, "Blanche's" absence will leave an incredible void for avid fans.
It's time Corrie producers got rid of all the sleeziness and started re-producing entertaining episodes which portray characters similar to Maggie's character. Surely everyone has slept with everyone by now. Time to move on!
