It seems everyone is making a comeback. First Peter Barlow, Then Leanne Battersby. Now as reported elsewhere Keith Duffy is set to make a return in the New Year as womanising barman Ciaran McCarthy.
After the tragic death of former Boyzone bandmate Stephen Gately, the 35 year old Irish actor is due to start filming in Manchester in December with his first episodes going out in February. But who are the stars of the street you would like to see make a comeback.
Here we pick our Top 10 favourite Corrie Comeback Candidates. And no Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) who made a disastrous comeback in 2002 after she first left the street in the 1990s - definitely doesn't make the cut.

Without a doubt, Karen would be my first, then Sunita and Curly without that wife of his. I also kind of miss Cilla especially what with the Windasses on the St. the interaction would be highly entertaining.
Cilla has to come back - then it could be revealed that Eddie Windass is really Chesneys father - I have a theory that Anna already suspects this and that is why she has taken such an interest in him.
Mock me if u will but my hunches usually prove right haha.
I'd luv it if Karen came back for a few episodes cos the fights with Becky would be brilliant. Tracey will of course be back because Kate Fords career seems to be in need of a boost but as for the rest of them in the list they have no place in the street anymore and wouldn't fit in at all

There will never be a better couple than Karen and Steve. I absolutely loved them. A huge loss to Corrie. I have heard she made a statement that she would never come back... too bad...

Oh how I would love Karen to come back! What a great character! I also really enjoyed Spider and would love him to return as well. While I am asking, how about Cilla, Les and Sunita as well?

I am pretty sure that I read an article where the actress who plays Sunita, makes a comment about being nervous working with small children so closely in her return role as Sunita...

Ida Clough. The factory has never been the same without battleaxe Ida. Granada underused Ida over the years and never gave a storyline for her exit.
Glad to see Ciaran is returning. Would also like to see Vernon Tomlin back.
Definitely Frankie and Danny Baldwin -- especially Danny! He was so great. I never liked Karen Macdonald and would not want her back. Tracy Barlow was very watchable - so was that builder she murdered- but it will be difficult to bring him back from the dead!
Bring back: Danny and Jerry
Lose: Vernon, Liz and Michelle. Their characters are too flat and predictable. Inject some life into Roy's character (something out of character).
Retain: Blanche, Jack and Becky for sure.
I'd love to see Jim Macdonald come back permanently.
I would like to see Mavis Riley Wilton and Bet Lynch (Julie Goodyear) come back. And whatever happened to Mr. Sugden, veteran of World War II?
I hope we see more of jake. Wasn't sure at first but already feeling like I'm gonna miss him.
This isn't about this subject, but I just found out yesterday that Helen (Rosie Webster)might be going out with JLS' Marvin! Or I think they have the fancies for eachother! It is known that if they are together, they will probably be the Hottest couple in the UK!
I would love to see Tricia Hopkins come back, played by Kathy Jones. I would also like them to find a spot for Yana Lumb, played by Jayne Bickerton.
Now Tony is getting his comeuppance, let's have Jed Stone back permanently as a good friend to Emily - Lord knows she needs one!

Margi Clarke as Jackie Dobbs always makes the street a more entertaining place.
Also Wendi Peters should return, she had alrewady made the character of Cilla popular, but if she'd dtayed a bit longer, she would have been one of the legendary women of corrie!
GET JAKE THE BUILDER BACK IN CORRIE HE WAS GREAT AND ALSO HANDSOME LOVE HIM XX :D
