Personally I don't like it all when new characters come back as completely different actors and often I don't warm to them at all. Take Sophie Webster, played by Brooke Vincent. I'm sure she's lovely person, but I just see her as an interloper - pretending to be the Webster's younger daughter, they just haven't realised it yet.
Of course, there are some exceptions, perhaps most notably Tracy Barlow (Kate Ford) who really brought a fairly dull character to life in my opinion. But on the whole they haven't been so successful. Which brings us to Nick Tilsley. Played by Adam Rickitt, an actor so wooden he would have been better off in Corrie's Timber Yard, I was actually really pleased to see him go in 2004 despite his good looks (I'm only jealous).
But now Nick is back, only this time played by actor Ben Price which can only be a good thing. Best known as bisexual love rat Conrad Gates in Footballers' Wives, Ben makes his Street debut on December 21st in time for Gail marrying Joe (nevermind that he's around eight years older in real life than the 29 year old character). I only hope he plays a good part.

I have a different opinion about Sophie Webster, I think she is terrific. She brings a bit of sass and humour to the family of pompous and tarty. The younger Sophie was not much to remember.
I too love Brooke as Sophie - in fact ever since the day she first appeared I have been waiting for her to become old enough to work the hours required for a big storyline. Apparently the biggie is coming soon and it involves some lesbian shenanigans yippee - I can't wait to see Sallys face haha
I think some newer actors have really brought characters to life like never before, what springs to mind immediately for me would be Jack P. Sheppard and Tina O Brien, for starters! As for new Nick, I'm of the wait and see frame of mind...
I think I may have been a little unfair on Sophie. I do think she has improved a lot and the storylines she is getting are more interesting. It's just that when she first arrived I didn't think she fitted in particularly well. As for the last Nick Tilsley (Adam Rickitt) I stand by my original opinion - he was rubbish. I look forward to Ben Price but not having seen him in Footballers' Wives I don't know what to expect
I love Brooke Vincent playing Sophie, without her I would have to change the channel everytime the Websters came on the screen. As for Ben Price playing Nick, he certainly can't be any worse the Adam Rickitt who was so wooden he made pinocchio seem like a real boy..Now if they could find a child actress who is "alive" to play Amy.
I love Brooke as Sophie Webster. The better of the two webster girls! I always think of Nick as the original played by Warren Jackson but Adam Rickett improved over time. Ben Price was go in Footballers wives but he is a bit older and will make Gail seem ancient! ets just wait and see...
Adam Ricketts is far from wooden in his role in Shortland Street here in New Zealand. He goes from strength to strength and it is great that he decided to stay hee rather than returning to Coro Street,
