This week we finally see Claire and Ashley Peacock come back to the forefront of Corrie. Having been predominately minor characters since Julia Haworth (Claire)'s maternity leave last year, they are now stepping up in a demanding new storyline that begins with Claire collapsing from a clot in her lung. Julia and Steven Arnold (Ashley) discuss their characters and the story on this week's ITV ITV behind-the scenes video.
"Things have been a bit quiet for the Peacocks," says Steven. "There's a lot coming up for them which I'm glad to say!"
Julia explains: "Claire develops a blood clot on her lung, which leads to a miscarriage, so it's quite tragic really but it brings a lot of questions to the Peacocks and their whole family."
Steven adds: "The doctors tell Ashley she was pregnant and he didn't have a clue about it, so it's a pretty demanding storyline in that respect."
Julia also discusses her appreciation of the Corrie writers for not letting the past issue of Claire's post-natal depression be forgotten, and Steven discusses Claire's demand that Ashley have a vasectomy! A great little video again from ITV.com, well worth a look if you can.

Any storyline involving Claire I can't watch. Depressing, dragged out, and I'm expected to feel sympathy for a character I've been wanting to leave for about 4 years. The sooner it's over the better.
Have to say I'm actually a big fan of the Peacock family, especially Claire. They would rank amongst some of my favourite characters on the show. I'm looking forward to seeing them return to the Corrie limelight, and hope this storyline will continue beyond the miscarriage and possible vasectomy.
Sorry but I couldnt care less about Clare at all. She hasnt been seen for ages, then suddenly "pops" up every now and again. I find her a real moaning, negative rather odd woman, I dont mind Ashley so much, but I really wish they would write Clare out. I am not interested in her miscarriage or jumping off a building or anything she does at all.
Thank you Penny Lane. Proved again last night, Claire is obsessive and doesn't ever listen yet Ashley always ends up grovelling. Write her out, I could not care less what happens to her.
Thrilled the Peacocks are taking centre stage, they're brilliant characters and I'm sure will give us great drama over the next few weeks. Steven and Julia are brill actors.
