He may have only joined the show in February of this year, but it was today announced Luke Strong, aka actor Craig Kelly, is bowing out of Coronation Street.
Brought in by Carla to take care of her share of Underworld, Luke has certainly ruffled some feathers on the cobbles, most notably Tony Gordon's, and the two have had a rocky relationship at best. After buying out Carla, Luke has now got himself into financial difficulties at the factory, but this looks to be shortly resolved - in the form of a certain Miss Rosie Webster.
His love life has also flourished and floundered on the Street, with a whirlwind romance with Michelle Connor that ended in an unlikely love triangle with Peter Barlow, and poor Luke was left out in the cold. Again, Miss Webster looks to be stepping in to resolve Luke's relationship difficulties too.
Speaking to ITV, Craig Kelly said: "I have had a ball playing Luke Strong and although it's been fun I always knew he would be a character that would enter the street in mysterious circumstances, ruffle feathers, make his mark and leave."
The door will be left open for a possible return in the future, and Luke's on screen until the end of October.

I'll be sorry to see him go. He made an excellent foil for Tony, and he was a good fit for Corrie.
Sorry to hear Luke is leaving, its funny how quickly we get to know someone. Carla seems to be forgotton (by me anyway).
I wish Luke would stay and Carla NEVER comes back!
He is one of the brightest characters to emerge recently, with lots of possible outcomes, such a pity then he is going to leave and so soon.
PS, when is Tony Gordons dastardly deeds going to catch up with him? Seems ridiculous the way this is hanging on...
I think its very sad, I have always liked Craig ever since I saw him in Queer as Folk. His character in Corrie is very clever and whity - I like him stringing Tony along.
