Gold Stars of the week : Corrieblog

There's a mishmash of Coronation Street ups and downs this week. Straight off the mark, the performer of the week, at least for me, was Gray O'Brien as Tony. He's done manipulation (Maria, Luke), mean (Tom), defensive (Luke sacked him), cocky (threatening to take his business away from Underworld) to the midst of another panic attack (at Maria's scan).

We must start off with a fashion faux pas...
Hairdo of the week: Becky's pouffy do with a braided tiara. And the hunk of cake in her gob didn't help!

Brilliant move, bringing back a Tony mask! Those masks creeped me out on the night of the stag and they still do and they seem to unsettle Tony nearly as much!

Lines of the week:
Gold star: After sacking Tony, Luke hands him the mask and says "Here, take both of your faces with you!"

Silver star: Norris "I'm the duck on the lake. I might seem calm on the surface but below I'm paddling like billy-o to keep afloat."

Bronze Star "Has Minnie chucked in her pinnie?"

Raspberry of the week
Tara always annoyed me, right from the get go. She's every bit as single minded and self centred as her mother and now, it looks like she'll be just as vindictive as I think Nina could be. She found out Dev had a one night stand with a friend of hers and is going to make him pay, figuratively and literally. First of all, "they were on a break!" Well, Dev thought so anyway. It's not really an excuse and it's certainly not the done thing to keep the bed warm with someone else five minutes after the previous resident left it. But it *was* only a one night stand. Is it really worth going over the top concocting an elaborate revenge plan? It's not as if it was an ongoing affair. It's not as if Dev and Tara had been married for years. Dev might deserve a soapy slap across the chops and a high and mighty strop from Tara, but..."Vengeance is mine"? I don't think so. Get over it, girlfriend. Just kick him to the curb. That'll be punishment enough.

Having said that, Dev has always thought he was the center of his universe. What a poser! Literally! That photo shoot with Tara and Justin was absolutely ridiculous but oh, so typical of Dev, and part of me is also looking forward to his ego being his downfall. One can only hope.
