Gabrielle Drake, who starred in cult 70s science fiction series UFO, is to join the cast of Coronation Street. She'll play Vanessa, who gets involved in some way with Bill Webster and Auntie Pam. It's described by the Mirror's Corrie mole as "a funny storyline which sees her and her partner eyeing up Bill and Pam when they meet in a hotel."
Gabrielle has appeared in Corrie before, playing a Swedish girl whom Dennis tanner fell for in 1967. She also has a host of other TV credits and has recently done a lot of theatre work.
