Here's a little sample from our recent email postbag.
On last night's episode: "Firstly, really well written Lucy Cannon is a good talented writer. And It was great to see more of Emily and Betty - its high time they had more to do and more screen time. The celebrations of Colin's birthday were great viewing, and it was brilliant to see Rita take to the spotlight, Barbara Knox is a corrie legend, and I really liked the scene between her and Norris that was really well written and acted and showed great emotion. It was also nice to see Julie turn to drama, she was excellent as well as Paula and I'm looking forward to the fall out from it. Plus, and I don't say this very often, it'll be nice to see How Eileen copes with all, I'm sure Sue Clever will give a great performance true the latest dramas! Great episode with a mixture of comedy and drama, plus its high time we saw more of Ashley and Claire, it was good the way Lucy wrote in so many characters." [Chris H]
On the return of Carla: "I am glad to hear Alison is in discussions again about the characters return later this year. I imagine her return will have a big part in Samia Smith's temporary departure as Maria for her own maternity leave! I imagine Carla will force Maria out in some way. I can't wait to see it all play out." [Peter]
"I'm enjoying the Maria/Tony story. We can all see where it's going, but I have to wonder what the writers are going to do about the Liam murder. If Tony was responsible, he will have to see justice. However, will the writers pull something out at the last minute that makes Tony innocent, even if he doesn't know know it himself? Tony is too popular a character to be sent down. Plus there will be fireworks for sure when Carla returns. Which I anxiously await." [Kathy R]
On Rosie and Luke Strong: "I've already expressed my opinion on this storyline. I think it is totally ridiculous that John Stape would give the proceeds of his house to Rosie the person who totally ruined his life knowing full well that she would just squander it away and what is he going to live on? I can't see it myself, are the script writers scrapping the bottom of the barrel. It doesn't surprise me that Rosie tries to seduce yet another man, she is the biggest whore going anyway. I am going to hate this story and as I said before if they do this and the Kevin and Molly story I for one will stop watching Corrie." [Mags]
"Boring!!! Can't the writers come up with something different for Rosie? It's all getting a bit old hat and she's only 18. Is she still going to be like this when she's 30?" [Sue B]
On Steve and Becky: "I'm getting right weary of Steve. Becky was correct to tell Amy the truth. Isn't it better for a child to know that the parent is prevented from being with her than having her think that her mum chooses to live without her child in some hotel? Five minutes ago Steve was going crazy at the thought of Becky being with Jason, and he couldn't wait to marry her. Now he's having second thoughts? Becky should run from that family. Steve doesn't know what he wants except that he never wants what he has." [Kathy R]
"Re Kathy R.'s comments on Steve M not knowing what he wants but it is always something he doesn't have - That is so spot on!! He is marching in Ken's relationship footsteps. Enough already!!" [Pearl]
