Coronation Street theme tune is favourite

Eric Spear's iconic Coronation Street theme tune has come in at number ten in a survey of the favourite sounds of people in Britain. Since the other nine sounds were birdsong, children laughing, heavy rain, wind whistling through trees, ice cream van jingles, applause at cricket, waves breaking, hearing someone say "I love you" and the chimes of Big Ben, then this officially means that Coronation Street is the favourite piece of music.

Before we get too excited, it's perhaps significant that the company who commissioned the survey, Amplifon, makes hearing aids.
