Dev's uncle arrives in Coronation Street

There's a new arrival in Coronation Street next week. No, it's not Maria's baby come early. It's Dev's Uncle Umed. He'll be played by Harish Patel, who has previously been seen in the film Run, Fatboy, Run and a huge number of Indian films. He's also well-known for his theatre work, including the lead role in the play Rafta, Rafta at the National Theatre in London (his performance was described as "irresistibly jovial and entertaining").

He's going to cause trouble next week when he becomes convinced that Tara is having an affair with Jason Grimshaw.
