The mystery of Julie Carp's mum

sharon-duce-172.jpgWe know that Eileen Grimshaw is an old school friend of Julie Carp's mum, Paula. Since Eileen found out, Julie has been quite evasive about her mum and it's all a bit of a mystery.

Next week we'll meet the lady herself, when Eileen bumps into Paula in the Street and insists they go for a drink together. It turns out that Paula left school suddenly because she was pregnant with Julie - but who was the father? It couldn't possibly be anyone to do with Eileen, could it?

Paula is played by Sharon Duce, who has a list of TV credits as long as a very long arm. From Softly Softly and Z Cars back in the 1970s, via Doctor Who, Emmerdale, London's Burning and countless other shows, you're bound to recognise her face.

    i heard a rumour that jason ends up sleeping with his aunty which i believe is julie!! which means that julie is eileens half sister and julies mum was assaulted by eileens dad this is what i think

    I just know the storyline is going to work, and work brilliantly at that. It sounds far fecthed bt you just know the delivery of the actors in question and the writing are going to be top notch.

    I have enjoyed seeing Julie's character becoming solidly established over the last few months and it is always good to have more of Eileen.

    I can't wait to see Paula arrive and the further development of Julie's character.

    Looking forward to the plot, corrie always comes up great with these storys, even though i dont like Eileen, Sue is a great actress and deserves a good storyline.

    Julie’s “mum” looks about 55 and Julie is about 40 so her having her at around 15 would be about right but Eileen is only mid 40s so she would have been a decade younger than Julie’s mum and wouldn’t have even been at school with her let alone a friend. I have noticed that they are making Eileen and Julie’s hair styles more similar lately, obviously to create a “resemblance”.

    Oh definitely, i've been saying this for weeks, Julie is going to turn out to be Eileen's half sister, it's just the way of soap opera plots. No spoilers, just well educated guessing. Nice to see Sue Cleaver with a good storyline!
