Corrie's Molly to have an affair

12_12_molly-tyrone.jpgSay it ain't so. Married for all of five minutes, and there's already talk of Molly Dobbs having an affair with an older man.

But worse is still to come - the older man is said to be none other than Kevin Webster, who is of course her husband Tyrone's friend and boss. And a married man himself. I worry about the moral fibre in the Street, I really do.

There's even worse than that! "One of the future possibilities being discussed for Molly is to have her falling pregnant but not knowing whether Kevin or Tyrone is the father," says the Sun's Corrie mole. "It'll most likely end with a DNA test and a bitter custody battle."

The key words here are "possibilities" and "most likely" - in other words, nothing's been set in stone yet. But Kevin does have form, and in tonight's episode we'll see him and Sally having an argument, and Kevin moaning to Ashley that he feels like he's completely under Sally's thumb. Could this be the start of the groundwork that would lead him to have an affair?

Dont believe this for one minute, no that cant be true - Kevin may have form, but this story I think is rubbish!

I really hope this isnt true. I cant see Kevin having an affair with his best mates wife especially after they have only just got married. If it is true then I really think Corrie writers have lost the plot and need to look for new ideas rather than one affair followed by another affair. Corrie was back on track lately but if this is true then I really do give up on it after over 35 years of watching!

I hope not - can't anyone be happy on that Street?!

That's the most ridiculous thing I've heard since the news broke that Tony & Maria might become an item.

This would make a mockery of marriage - yet again.

Tell me this isn't true. I hope the script writers will think again and not do this. Ridiculous, can't they let them be happy, let them become the next Jack and Vera. I think it would be farfetched and out of character, just to get viewing figures. It will totally destroy Corrie, if this happens I for one will finally give up on Corrie and stop watching.

Jack & Vera weren't exactly faithful to each other though, so maybe this wouldn't stop Tyrone and Molly being "the next Jack and Vera."

Why? Why? ....Why? That Sun article made it sound like Kevin had been the only one who cheated in his marriage to Sally, but he only cheated once. And that wasn't with his best friend's wife. Natalie was also very flirtatious and sexual. Molly isn't, especially not with her husband's best friend. This story would make them both completely break character, and to turn this into a "Who's the daddy" story also makes a mockery of the last time Kevin had a child outside of Sally -- the stillborn son he had with Allison Wakefield, who is never, ever mentioned. You know they'll have Tyrone as the father, and Kevin will go back to Sally, tail between his legs.

Kevin is the one who keeps that family together while Sally and Rosie go around pouting and moaning and causing problems. The Websters were the best and most believable family on the show. Why destroy them this way?

Corrie's #1 problem right now is plot over character. Stories that are rushed, that don't make sense, that seem to be done to get attention. They've all been somewhat believable, for the characters involved, until now.

If they're going to do this, then it needs to be genuine love. Not an affair. And it can't end with the partners staying the same. I think Kevin and Molly would have to become a couple, at least for a while.

I just don't get this at all. Why? I'm sorry to be so overwrought, but it makes no sense to me. I don't want to see this happen to Kevin.

Oh for God's sake! Are the writers so talentless that this is all the stories they can come up with, untold affairs? Molly and Tyrone have only just got married as well, stupid stupid stupid!

As everyone else has said... why? There have been so many unbelievable personality twists in the last few years that it really makes me wonder what the writers are thinking.

I know they need to come up with new story devices, but surely they can do that and still have one faithful couple on the show.

As I keep saying - why can't they let at least one couple have a happy marriage or are the scriptwriters so sad and corrupt they just put their lives into Corrie?

You've got to be kidding me?! First Maria and Tony are apparantly shacking up and now this, oh dearie me!

For crying out loud. I wish the producers would just wake up and see that the fans do not want to have every couple beak up or have affairs. We have had enough. Take notice and ditch this stupid storyline.

Kevin has only *just* realised he's under Sally's thumb?

But, please, no. Don't do this now. Plus, with Ken's little fling thing, wouldn't that be too much all at once?

Well said Carl, my sentiments exactly. Mess Molly around if you must but DO NOT involve Kevin. There is just no way this would be believable.

OMG ! Not another rubbish story line! Can the writers have some nice stories for us,these days?I think I'm gonna stop watching Corrie for good.I have been watching it since 1984/85 and I used to love watching it,now the excitement is gone.
Liz and Lloyd,Becky/Steve/Jason saga,Ken and his never ending affairs,Deirdrie's low cut dresses. What next after Molly+ Kevin thing? I heard Tony and Marie are to get together. Is that true? Another rubbish story line.
OMG ! For God's sake, give us something good and excited to look forward to.

I know what the writers need to do - put the street on a carousel, spin it once a week and all the females in each house have to move one house over, the males stay in the home, that way EVERYONE can have an affair, get it all out of their systems and we can get back to basic, moral living the way the majority of us live.

I have to agree with everyone else. I'm sick of the affairs on the street. Steve and Becky, Carla and Liam, John and Rosie, Dev and the girlfriends mother, etc. It is definitely getting old. I've lived on my street for 5 years and we've only had one couple separate because of an affair, so I don't think all the affairs on Corrie Street are on average with the real world.

But I think the writers are building up to something for Kevin. Last night, he was moaning to Ashley, a few weeks ago he was putting together the kit he bought at Rita's. I think they're trying to show us the beginnings of a mid life crisis for him. However, instead of an affair, maybe they could do something different. Have him leave Sally to go "find himself"; have him go back to school, join a band or maybe even try to convince Sally to have another child (in-vitro hasn't been used yet). Part of his mid life crisis could be that he has no one to hand the family business to, and they could even mention the child he had with Alison. So many ways for this story to go without the old "have an affair" stand by.

This would be SOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo ridiculous! If the script writers actually did do something as silly asthis I would be shocked. It would not be at all in character for Molly to have a fling with Kevin and even if he has had an affair before there is no way hewould have one with Tyrones new bride! What next? Rita having it away with Kirk??!!

I agree with everyone! What could they possibly be thinking. As bad as Ashley having the affair. How about someone becoming an alcoholic...something realistic!!

Martina I do like your idea of Kevin getting into a band. It would open the door for Kevin Kennedy to make a guest appearance for a few weeks. Parhaps Kev could go to a weekend workshop on guitar technique and Curly would be the instuctor. For oldtime sake they could round up a few past musicians eg Garry Mallet and put on a concert in the Rovers. That would be impowering
for Kevin and great fun for us.

Why on earth doesn't Corrie come to a close while we all ave good memories. The struggle to find new stories in the existing cast members is pathetic. Come on Corrie bosses close this series down, bring it to a good finish while it still has credibilty. It was never intended as a farce. Close it please before Ken sleeps with Rita

***SHARP INTAKE OF BREATH*** BRON - what are you thinking? Wash your mouth out!!!

"Well said Carl, my sentiments exactly. Mess Molly around if you must but DO NOT involve Kevin. There is just no way this would be believable."

I know. I like Molly but she's not one of my big favorites, so I'm not as invested if they decide to completely alter her character. But Kevin, he's one of the big reasons I watch the show.

A mid-life crisis not involving an affair would be such a great story.

Oh, Please! Why don't you finally give Kevin a GOOD story line that has to do with him and not his kids or cheating etc. He is one of the most under rated actors on Corrie!!!

I have to fast forward whenever Molly gets anything like touchy feely with old man Kevin (sick story line)
Trouble is, when I land on play Fizz is YET AGAIN sobbing and groaning and droning over the loser in Jail (tediously OTT)
So I fast forward again and land in the middle of Tyrone winging and insulting Jack week after week after week (the original Tyrone would never speak out against Jack - so pathetic)

The writers have clearly been recruited from university because having a degree means you know all about life and society NOT !!!

Writer 1 - k, iv got an idea, lets make people have affairs all over the street
Writer 2 - yeah, and er, lets have every old man shack up with every young girl
Writer 3 - cool, and lets have David do stuff that even mobster don't get up to even though he would know in real life that he would get caught.

Head Writer - I'm so glad I set you young idiots on as writers. What would the street do without your debauched immoral sick minds.

The end.
