Thomas Craig, who played Tommy Harris in Coronation Street from 2002-5, is taking on a very different role. In The Murdoch Mysteries, a new crime series on the Alibi channel, he'll play Inspector Brackenreid, the quick-witted boss of the title character, detective William Murdoch. It's set in Toronto in Victorian times, and gruesome crimes will be solved using the science of forensics, which was then very new.
It'll air on Alibi at 9pm on Tuesday nights, starting with a double bill on 10 February. Click the continue reading link for a video clip.

I think he's storyline towards the end of his character was great, even though it did go a bit over the top with Katy and Angela, it was a good storyline
Well, that'll give him something else to do instead of annoying the hell out of me with the DFS advert voiceover! Sounds pretty good. Never much liked Tommy Harris though.
The Murdoch Mysteries had been running in Canada for quite a while now.I have seen a few of them and found them quite interesting. Some humour in the show.I find it amusing to see Murdoch investigating whatever and arriving at the scene of the crime on a bicycle, complete with bowler hat!
As for Thomas Craig,he does a good job as Murdoch's boss and even though he was in Corrie for quite a while,I still think of Thomas Craig when he was in Where The Heart Is,many moons ago.
Yes I have loved seeing Thomas again and the series is great. I enjoy period pieces and the star, Yannick Bisson, is sooo easy on the eyes.
The actor who play Peter Barlow was just on a recent episode. He was really good. Sorry to say, sometimes I wonder if soap actors are really good. When I saw him in this part I realized they truly are good actors. They are just so natural on Coronation street that I forget.
