Katherine Kelly has said she loves the idea of members of the public sending in items for her character, Becky, to wear. "Pat Butcher in 'EastEnders' gets earrings so maybe Becky can get some accessories too," she says. Katherine enjoys shopping for her character and often buys things for Becky, including the "Becky" necklace that she usually wears. She says, "Becky's wardrobe is so 'trailer trash'. I absolutely love it!"
Another thing she loves is the sight of Ryan Thomas in a naval uniform (yes, we can see the appeal) - he's going to dress up as Richard Gere in An Officer and a Gentleman to propose to Becky, as we've mentioned previously. "I have to say Ryan looks very good in uniform," Katherine says. But for Becky, there's the added complication of a proposal from Steve at the same time. Which man will be putting a ring on her finger? And which member of the viewing public will be providing the earrings?
She's a brilliant character and a person you just love to watch on screen, Katherine's a brilliant actress and I think she'll be in corrie for the long haul - she's hugely popular and the story coming up with Jason will be great to watch - Becky's storys are heartwarming and sad at the same time, but it'll be intresting with the whole Steve and Ja thing.
I really like Becky and Jason together, although Kat also does great work with Simon Gregson. I almost wish she could have both men.
