I was watching Coronation Street's 35th anniversary documentary that I happened to convert from VHS to digital over the holidays. There are extensive interviews with Coronation Street's creator, Tony Warren and they showed this fab photo of a young Tony and Pat Phoenix (Elsie Tanner) from the early 60s. Isn't it wonderful? He looks like Gary Oldman. There's a casting idea for when they film his life story.
Yes a bit i think. Not so much now though. And Gary is too old to play Tony as a young man in the days he created Corrie.
A nice memory for corrie,Elsie was a legend.
