Double episode is written by Jonathan Harvey
For some reason, I found both of these episodes really irritating. I think it was probably a case of spoilers spoiling things - I knew Tyrone would make it to the altar, so I wasn't too bothered by him being arrested (and I don't really believe that policeman was a policeman anyway), and those scenes seemed to go on for ages. And I found Molly's alternating radiant happiness and whingeing worrying very annoying.
But it was all redeemed by a beautiful little scene in the church porch, where Molly noticed that Jack was looking a bit emotional and asked him what was wrong. "It's been a bit of a day, and she isn't here, is she?" he said, a touching reference to Vera who died a year ago almost to the week. Pam decided it would be nice...
if Jack walked Molly down the aisle. The harpist played A Moment Like This, and Tyrone fainted, and we discovered that Molly's middle name is Cosette. And now her surname is Dobbs. But will Mr Dobbs be in prison for the honeymoon, or will Jack and Kirk manage to bribe the policeman, or am I right that there's something fishy about him anyway?
Elsewhere, Peter employed his official babe magnet, Simon, to get Leanne to come round for a pizza and DVD afternoon. Deirdre offered to have Simon afterwards, so Peter and Leanne could have some privacy. Didn't I put that delicately?
Steve wants to go to Ireland with Michelle. It's easier than staying in Weatherfield and having to face Becky every day. Liz told him to sort himself out and finish things with Michelle, as Michelle deserves better.
Gary Windass thinks that Tina deserves better than David, and used the excuse of needing to get into the Platts' to dismantle the Windass Christmas lights as an excuse to talk to her.
In other news: Amber would like to marry either Zac Efron or Simon Amstell. And, according to Tara, the worst thing about binge drinking is you become totally carb-centric the next day.

I cried... I laughed and I cried... why? Corrie hasnt managed to wrangle a single hint of emotion out of me recently, but tonights episodes had me an emotional WRECK (well, nearly... would've been had I been on my own with a box of tissues)
Especially when Molly was walked down the aisle by Jack... Oh lordy, I almost blubbed out loud! Truly a moving moment indeed beautifly played out...
I too don't believe that that guy is a real copper - not for a moment, and besides, I would rather like to think of him as the 'Hoarse Whisperer' - and Kirks offer of a cough sweet was absolutely hysterical!
This is what Corrie needs!!
I found myself oddly concentrating on the language in these episodes - I thoroughly enjoyed the almost melodic way the characters spoke but no-one speaks lke that in real life.
Methinks that Mr Harvey should be an (award winning) playwright rather than a TV writer.
Meanwhile Molly looked beautiful, 'It's only Paaaam' had a wig on loan from Blanche re-Boofed for the day and the 'Crazy Frog' lookylikey that Dev is with seems to be turning into a nice character.
Gary Windass is strangely sexy in his scenes but then Jason Grimshaw appears on screen and reminds every1 that he is the main 'eye-candy' on the street.
How I would love his real life actor brother from Waterloo Road to turn up on the street as a long lost half-brother from his dads' side.
Sue, I know exactly what you mean by irritating - for me, the main culprits were...
- Molly gigling & shrieking down the isle, she was way too noisy.
- Jason keeping on sniffing round Becky (take the hint, man!).
- Tina even allowing that nerd through the door (I think she must secretly fancy him).
- Pam (everying she does or says is irritating to me).
And the bent copper in the pub....nah, way too "pantomime" for my liking.
I laughed out loud at Kirk's superb line last night " you could move to Israel and live on a kebab!". Brilliant!!!
I found these episodes irritating as well. I think it was because there was too much going on apart from the wedding, which like all Corrie weddings can't happen without something going wrong somewhere. Isn't the "policeman" actually Pam's ex husband "Whispering Jeff"? I was surprised at the lack of Cobbles folk standing outside waiting to see Molly off to the church as well.
A classic corrie wedding, really well written and got the viewer really set into it, Molly looked gorgeous and Pam I thought really showed emotion as well as dear Jack about his Vi, brilliant episode and really enjoyed it.
Sorry - it was a disappointment - am glad it is over with and we can move on to the main event and Michelle being dumped.
I found the dialogue much too overwritten in the all-female scenes, especially from Natasha. There were still some nice parts. I didn't like any of what was going on with Tyrone, it was just stupid and made all of the men look stupid. I'm not even sure why Kirk is on the show now. Why not have him be the one to figure out this was a con?
I'm getting tired of Liz swanning around the Rovers with all the advice to Steve, and then expecting Eileen to be, I guess, thrilled, about her thing with Lloyd? Please. No wonder she likes Michelle -- I just remembered she's in the pub free of charge too (Steve can't own it since he has a record).
I don't understand why Tina is putting up with the Windass son.
PS Forgot to mention - slut Rosie in the church - how annoying is she?
Mixed reactions over yesterday’s episodes. Blanche was hilarious as usual and Simon adorable. Molly, Amber and even Pam looked fantastic - and nice to see integration with Natasha. Thought the pub scenes with the “copper” who looked way past retirement age anyway to be contrived. far fetched and rather silly, especially with Tyrone handcuffed to the bar and Jack and Kirk running out to the cash point. I hope this puts an end to letter box mouth’s Del boy antics and her character is developed elsewhere, otherwise write her out.
I really enjoyed it too, even knowing what was coming. Seeing it unfold was worth the wait. I don't think buddy was a cop either, there he is, he gets cash out of them *and* he gets the sunglasses! Quids in!
The phantom Natasha surfaces. Still the most pointless character in Corrie. Was Jason at the wedding? I can't recall. He and Ty were good mates too. Yet as always the guests at a wedding didn't make a lot of sense. Usually there's mostly Corrie residents and a few scattered bodies to make up the numbers, last night there were lots of faces that i've never seen before and only a handful of neighbours, the Websters, Julie, Tom i think, Dev and Tara... no Jason who is another of Ty's best friends, no Ashley who's also a mate, it's just strange.
I cringed with embarassment at these two painful episodes. Sadly, todays Corrie has trancended so much in to farcical nausuem that it's heart breaking to watch whilst at the same time remembering the claasic days of Ena and co. Why does every character have to be so stereo typical? As for Gary Windass! Need I say more
Jack was soooo wonderful in last night's episode. He's a national treasure, and I savour each scene he's in as if it's his last. He's become the voice of wisdom in all the chaos. I didn't know where his character would go after Vera's death, but the writer's have made every scene he's in something to remember.
I thought the wedding was more like a "carry on" farce. I wanted to shout "where's Barbara Windsor, Jim Dale and the rest?" Very boring and predictable. There's a big difference between corrie humour and slapstick.
I enjoyed these episodes. At least the wedding hitch didn't involve someone turning up and trying to stop the ceremony like so ofen happens in soap nowadays! Molly is a funny character- I like her- but she has few and far between real friends established on the sreet even though she has ben there a while now. By the way have I missed something? What happened to Monica??
