Welcome to the 2008 Corrieblog Awards! The idea is to present the nominees for our favourite Coronation Street characters and storylines and let you have your say. Comment with your choices and at the end of the month, we'll post the winners. The nominees were completely subjective, based on our stalwart editor, Sue's and my own humble opinions. Your mileage may vary.
Categories: We've tried to avoid most of the standard types of awards categories like "Favourite character, Favourite Storyline, Best Actor, Best Villain" etc, and tried to think up a more unusual angle though there are a few categores that you will have seen elsewhere. You may disagree on the choices and add your own but votes only count on these nominees.

Can Canadians get in on the voting? And, can anyone tell me how I can get subscriptions to British Soap Opera magazines or any mags with Coronation Street? I have been a devoted fan since Coronation Street came on the air in Canada. I was only 9 years old at the time and that had my parents quite puzzled. I am now 56 and the tradition continues with my daughters. Keep up the great work. Life wouldn't be the same without you...Happy Holidays to all from this side of the pond.

As for British Soap magazines containing Corrie stuff, I think many Canadian shops are now carrying Inside Soap which covers all the UK soaps including Coronation Street. You may be able to subscribe internationally but i doubt it would be any cheaper than buying it at the news stand. IT's a weekly magazine, as well. We get it in CAnada a few weeks to a month old but as we're so far behind anyway, it doesn't really matter!
