Just a little "guess who" to tide you over this morning. Who is this former Coronation Street character? He still makes very occasional appearances and his presence is generally not appreciated very much. His mother reckoned he might be the by product of an affair she had but his father reckons his son is too much like he was as a young man to be anyone else's. He's been responsible for a few bad things by being irresponsible but he wasn't so bad in his younger years. Click through below to see if you guessed right.
Yes, it's Terry Duckworth, all right. Most recently he was seen at his mother's funeral where he made sure Jack knew there was no room in his life for his father and urged his father not to sell the house to Tyrone and Molly (because he figured it would come to him when Jack died). He sold his mother a dodgey car which indirectly caused the death of Judy Mallett. That earned him a thumping from widower Gary that Christmas when he showed up and denied all responsibility, allowing it was probably just Judy's "time" to go. *thump*
He sold his son, Tommy, to his in-laws rather than let Vera and Jack raise the lad. He could get money out of the Hortons but his parents didn't have two pennies to rub together. He allowed Tricia Armstrong to throw herself at him and when she got pregnant, he didn't want to know. But when he was young, he was full of optimism and plans. He even fell in love with Andrea Clayton but when she got pregnant, her family whisked her away, feeling he and his family weren't good enough. Terry seemed to sour after that. Now he doesn't even recognize his son, Paul who seems to have inherited his father's scheming gene. I know at least two fans who always fancied Terry even though he was the quintessential bad boy. One thing is for sure, when Terry's around, things are never boring!

Terry Duckworth.
Terry Duckworth is a character that you just despise..he doesn't have one redeeming feature. Which is odd because most "villians" have something likeable about them, they show a soft side for something.... Not Terry, he would kick Mom, Dad, kids, dogs, cats anyone or thing that gets in his way.
I think in the very early days Terry wasn't so bad but they really backed him into a corner. It would have been nice to find out at Vera's funeral that he really did have some feeling for his mum. He probably does but i think it's buried pretty deep! Yes, Terry is pretty much non-redeemable.
Didnt they show scenes of Terry gazing at his mother in the hospital bed when she had the kidney transplant? I think he did have feelings for her deep down. Pity they didnt bring Terry back for a short storyline after Vee's funeral, the character was sorely wasted with that briefest of appearance.
Terry may have been (is) a bad boy but his stories were never dull. Remember years ago when he drove Mike Balwin's jag after hours to pickup women. A disgruntaled husband spray painted it and Terry had to explain (lie) to Mike how that could have happen. He was given some comic moments early on with Curly and Kevin - played then well too.
