Coronation Street fan of the week

alan-elsie-187.jpgThis week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Jayne Orr, who lives in Ayrshire, Scotland, with her husband, two daughters and two cats.

How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
More than 30 years - I recall watching it when I was a little nipper as my late mum was a avid fan. My earliest memory has to be Bet Lynch and her big Danish pastry-style updo.

Who's your favourite character?
Elsie Tanner was my favourite in days gone by, but I really like Eileen and love the sarcastic banter between her and Steve.

What's been your Corrie highlight or favourite story?
I loved the Alan Bradley/Rita/Blackpool tram story line and Richard Hillman doing a good job of convincing Audrey she was losing her marbles. Alma's death sticks out too - a real tearjerker.

What would be your Fantasy Coronation Street storyline?
I would like to see the wind blow the Windasses outta town - what crass, clichéd characters they are. Think I would like to see evil Tony get his just desserts, but I guess that's a foregone conclusion in soapland.

Have you ever visited the Street set, met any of the cast, or do you own any Corrie memorabilia?
Alas the set was closed when I visited Manchester. Not met any of the cast and don't have any memorabilia - but who knows what will happen if I ever get to visit t'set!

Isnt that Alan Bradley with Elsie? I didnt realise they knew each other.

Probably in this photo Mark Eden (who was Alan Bradley) is playing the role of Wally Randle, who knew Elsie in 1981. [Sue H]

... pleased to 'meet' you, Jayne!
