Yay or nay: Will Gail and Joe settle down?

Comments (8)

Last week's yay or nay invited you to share your opinion on Auntie Pam, the woman who has brought laughter and dubious fancy goods to Weatherfield. And the lady gets a massive thumbs-up from you. Leighton said, "another fresh addition to a top drawer cast," and Rich said Pam is "easily my favourite character since Vera, whom I loved." Let's hope she survives New Year then...

12_11_gail-joe.jpg Moving swiftly on, Gail Platt is currently all loved-up with Joe McIntyre. Their secret love is about to be no secret any more, as the kids catch them mid-snog in tonight's episode. But can you see a long-term future for these two? Gail hasn't had much luck with romance recently, but maybe this time will be different and the Platts and McIntyres will all live together like Weatherfield's answer to the Brady Bunch. What do you think? Will the radiant receptionist and the fit kitchen fitter settle down in 2009? Click the comments link to have your say and vote yay or nay.

Yay I hope so because I think Gail deserves some happiness and luck with men after all of her previous partners.

Let's hope so. I don't think I could stand another "Gail relationship turned bad situation". Presumably Joe will move into Gail's house, since that always happens on Corrie. I found myself wondering last night, where did Tony live before he moved in with Carla?

Gail's never really had the greatest taste in men. Brian was gorgeous and early on he was nice, but his family was a big headache and their love died a slow death. I never understood what she saw in Martin (aside from him being willing to take on her kids), although they were happy for a number of years. Hillman...nuff said. And Phil, I never got that either.

I like Gail and Joe because they have a lot of laughs together, and after spending most of the past 8 (!!) years focusing on her toxic children or being terrorized by Hillman, I enjoy seeing Gail in a fun, uncomplicated relationship. Joe's not the greatest character, or played by the greatest actor, but he has chemistry with Helen Worth and I enjoy seeing them together.

Yay - according to the streets exucitive producer, their relationship is built to last, and I'm really glad Gail is a legend and it is about time she had some happiness plus I love actress Helen Worth - corrie isn't corrie without her.

Glad to see Gail so happy, and I love the actress Helen Worth, but happiness doesn't last in Soapland. She has always chosen the wrong men.

I hope not. Hes as dull as ditchwater. Helen's far too good an actress for him. He delivers every line like a stereotypical policeman, monotonous. The writers should've given him a defining character. I mean, who is he? A kitchen-fitter. Tina's dad. That's it.

"There's more to Joe than meets the eye", so he could well end up in the same category as Gail's other recnt lovers.

I love Tina, like David and Gail, although far from my favourite, is a legend. However, I'm not particularly bothered...because the actor who plays Joe gets on my nerves. I'm not entirely sure what it is, but he doesn't seem at all authentic. I'm sure I'd be far less ambivalent if somebody else were portraying the character.

Yay at least i hope so. I hope Tina and David will show a bit of maturity and leave them to it. Ah but will the romance be as special now it doesn't have to be a secret anymore? We'll see
