The path of Molly and Tyrone's true love won't be smooth

In Coronation Street, as in most fiction, you can't have a couple who fall in love, get married, have children and live to a blissful old age. Where would be the drama in that? So it comes as no shock to discover that Molly and Tyrone are going to have a major falling-out before they eventually tie the knot (which I'm confident they will).

The Daily Star says that new kebab shop worker Minnie (to be played by Poppy Jhakra) is going to be at the centre of the trouble. When Molly notices Minnie wearing Tyrone's T shirt, and smells Minnie's perfume (Eau de Kebab) on him, she jumps to conclusions and moves out of Coronation Street and back to her dad's. Tyrone tries to explain that he's selling the T shirts for Auntie Pam, but Molly refuses to listen.

I'm not worrying too much, though - I'm sure Auntie Pam will come up with one of her famous plans.

Pearl, Del Boy was David Jason's character from "Only Fools and Horses", a comedy sit-com set in Peckham, SE London and written by John Sullivan. Del Boy had a brother Rodney and an old grandad and they all lived together in a nasty 60's block of flats somewhere in Peckham. Del Boy used to buy second-hand stuff or goods off the back of a lorry or where-ever and try and flog it down in the local market. Rodney was the "look-out" in case the Police turned up. The comedy was brilliant as the writing was so good and all the characters were so believable. We know that stuff that "falls off the back of a lorry" does get sold in pubs, clubs and so on but I just don't believe in Pam's character. The difference is that Corrie is a Soap not a comedy so that is why although I love Corrie's humour that's not the same as a funny sit-com and I feel Pam is out of place. I just think where does she come from? what's she doing there? does she live with them? Others disagree and like her. I can't stand her or her whiny voice. And why doesn't someone young like her get out and find a job? I can imagine her having nagged her husband to death, if she ever had one, unlike Vera who really loved Jack, and Hilda who really loved Stan.

Oldtimer, may I ask who Del boy was? I started watching CS in the early 80's but don't recall a Del or a Delbert. Hope you read this and reply. Pearl

Pam will get it sorted. She fended off Jackie so she can patch things up for Molly and Ty.

Isn't Poppy supposed to be a lesbian character? I'm sure I read that on DS?

I love Pam, Molly and Tyrone. Apparantly Diggory won't be back for the wedding as Erik Potts is in panto. That's actually quite sad really as I was one of the phone who liked Diggory.

No, I find Auntie Pam an irritating and unbelievable character. It was OK with Del Boy in the 1980's, selling stuff out of suitcases, but it's out-of-date now.

Phew, you can always rely on Auntie Pam. She's a good'n, that's for sure.
