This week's Coronation Street fan of the week is Mary Churchill from Norval, Ontario, Canada.
How long have you been watching Coronation Street?
I've been watching Coronation Street ever since Gail Potter married Brian Tilsley (the beginning of maternity leave: good ole CBC was broadcasting two episodes every afternoon, five days a week...those were the days...).
Who's your favourite character?
My favourite character now is Jack Duckworth. My favourite character ever was Bet Lynch. Corrie's most under-rated charater is Emily Bishop. She should climb more trees, with her handbag. She's so good at comedy, but she seems to get very few funny story lines. I'd love to see her and Rita at the seaside.
What's been your Corrie highlight or favourite story?
Mike Baldwin dying in Ken Barlow's arms. Or Derek and Mavis jilting each other. Or Terry Duckworth being caught and arrested after a breakout from a court hearing, and having nothing more powerful to say than 'flaming Nora'. Or Annie Walker in a mood.
What would be your Fantasy Coronation Street storyline?
Rosie Webster getting married, going over unannounced to her fiance's place the night before the wedding to surprise him with a pre-wedding present, discovering him in bed with her maid of honour, and waiting until she's actually at the altar to put her veil on the bridesmaid's head, stuff the bouquet into her hands and tell all present just who really ought to be getting married. And the look on Sally's face when Rosie makes that speech! (This story is not original to me, I first read it in an american women's magazine more than twenty years ago, and it sounds to me like an urban myth. But a good one). And what if Sophie is the bridesmaid?
Have you ever visited the Street set, met any of the cast, or do you own any Corrie memorabilia?
I've ever seen the set, but I used to get all the magazines, and there's a T-shirt somewhere. Oh and a Weatherfield shield pin.

It is bad enough that we have to tolerate revolting people in society ,like the new family that has come into corrie .but I don't want to see them on my TV get rid of them.Give us some more amusing characters life is gloomy enough
