Tuesday Trivia, Did you know?

Today's trivia is a mixture of things, from wedding related trivia to statistics regarding babies and children. Do jump in with a comment if you remember more characters that fit some of these categories!

Oldest brides to wear a white dress to get married in would be Gail when she married Richard or Bet when she married Alec, both in their 40s at the time of their weddings. There have been older brides but they usually wore suits or nice dresses.

Dierdre and Gail top the list of most married women, four each, including twice to the same man (Deirdre married Ken twice and Gail married Brian twice). Ken's been married four times, twice to Deirdre.

A few people have three weddings to their name, including a remarraige to the same person. 1: Kevin who married Alison, and Sally twice.
2: Liz who married Vernon, and Jim twice. Steve who married Vicki and then Karen twice. Time will tell whether Steve hits the next level with four weddings. Will he and Michelle actually tie the knot? Hard to say. They've been on and off more times than Sally's knickers!

Fred Elliot had three weddings, though one of them was not a legal match and one only lasted three weeks. He'd have tied Ken if he hadn't died on his wedding day to Bev. Mike Baldwin had three weddings as well.

Probably the two best jiltings ever were Mavis and Derek, who jilted each other, and then, more recently, Jason doing a runner out the bathroom window to avoid his first attempt at marrying Sarah!

Stan Ogden was once sent an anonymous Valentine as a joke, from Ray Langton. Sophie did the same thing to Norris recently and since he recognized Sally's handwriting, he thought she fancied him!

Ken formally adopted Deirdre's daughter Tracy when she was 9. Martin Platt formally adopted Gail's son Nick and daughter Sarah. Nick took his father's name back after his Grandma Ivy died and left her house to him on condition that he change his name. Les adopted Chesney Brown when he and Cilla got married. Roy and Hayley hoped to adopt but after they got into trouble for running off with a foster child, they were no longer able to be considered.
Ken Barlow has four children, one of whom is adopted but would have had a fifth child. Denise Osbourne had a miscarraige but then discovered she was carrying twins and one was still viable and was subsequently born a healthy bouncing baby Daniel. Ken also had a grandson (and Mike Baldwin, a son) that he didn't know existed. In a startling case of retroactive continuity (aka "retcon"), Susan (pictured here with Adam) pretended she 'd had an abortion which also terminated her marraige to Mike Baldwin and then went off to have a son and raise him to the age of about 12 before anyone found out about him. Her brother Peter was the only one that knew.

The most number of years between siblings is 30 years, between Peter (and Susan) Barlow and Daniel Osborne, both Ken Barlow's offspring. There would have been about 18 years between Steve and Andy McDonald and baby Katie McDonald who died shortly after birth.
