Digital Spy have a great two-part interview with Katherine Kelly (Becky) here and here. She talks about next week's scenes in which she "does a David Platt" by smashing windows and cars with a large pole when she finds out that Sarah might be coming back to Weatherfield. But first she leaps over the Rovers' bar and attacks Jason, which was harder than it sounds: "They're highly technical scenes," she says, "You've got to be focused as quite a bit can go wrong. To be honest, though, a lot of the pressure was on Ryan [Thomas]. I had to get myself over the bar, but once I'd got him by the throat, he had to carry me to the floor. It doesn't look like it, but he's the one having to do a lot of the work! I was black and blue by the end of it, though!"
Another snippet that interested me was Katherine's take on the Becky/Steve relationship. "I think there's a big spark between them, but neither of them see it because they're so preoccupied by who they're with," she says. "I really think that they're punching above their weight with their current partners. It'd take someone else to point out the attraction between them, though. They don't even realise how much they've got it common."
I would love to see Becky and Steve together. Maybe Michelle could move on to Peter Barlow, and Maria can have Dev (though their combined yodelling would possibly be a bit difficult to take). There, that's everybody happy and sorted.
