Corrie sneak previews, week of Sept. 8 - 12

When the bank knocks back Tom's (Phillip McGinley) request for a loan he makes out everything's fine to Liam (Rob James-Collier). Needing the cash quick he knows Carla's (Alison King) now their only option and she knows it too as she pushes for a 25% stake in the business and the chance to break the news to Liam herself. Tom's in no position to argue but as he does the deal he worries about Liam's reaction. Oblivious to the arrangement Liam celebrates his new venture in the Rovers as a smug Carla plans her next move.

At the Mortons it's Mel's (Emma Edmondson) first day as a full fledged copper but she can't help brooding about what happened to Abi. Jerry (Michael Starke) meanwhile acknowledegs Teresa (Karen Henthorn) is sorry for the poisoning but tells her to stay away from the kids.

John's (Graeme Hawley) in shock following the sudden death of his grandmother. As he makes arrangements for the funeral he gives Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) the brush off when she approaches for a chat. Puzzled, Fiz is starting to feel lonelier than ever.

And Sean's (Antony Cotton) lovesick following his split from Marcus but he's getting little sympathy from his friends who point out it's his own that fault Marcus left him.

Monday 8 September 8.30pm

Liam's (Rob James-Collier) furious with Tom (Phillip McGinley) after discovering he's made Carla (Alison King) a partner in their new business and he's beholden to her yet again. Carla plays it cool as Liam insists he wants her out of the deal and is going to repay her. But as he studies the figures he realises they'll lose the contract without her money. Will Liam put his mariage to Maria first or has Carla found her way back into his life?

Meanwhile Maria's (Samia Smith) waiting at home for Liam. He's on a promise but when he arrives back late and in a foul mood will he break the news that he's back in business with Carla once again?

Knowing how close John (Graeme Hawley) was to his Gran, Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) worries about he's coping. Her feelings getting the better of her she starts to feign a headache in preaparation for throwing a sickie so she can join him at the funeral.

Elsewhere Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) insists he's going to finish with Nina and Mel (Emma Edmondson) celebrates when she hears Abi's operation went well.

John's (Graeme Hawley) surprised when Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) asks if she can accompany him to his gran's funeral. Grateful for her support it's a tough day for John who admits he couldn't have got through it without her. As they head back to his grandmother's to check the house, John admits how he regrets runining their chance of happiness. It's been an emotional day for Fiz and with her guard down will she let John back into her heart?

Liam's (Rob James-Collier) got a lot of making up to do with Maria (Samia Smith) but he can't get Carla (Alison King) out of his head. Guessing the pair have got history Tom (Phillip McGinley) lays his cards on the table and says he fancies his chances with her. Liam's non-committal but when he sees them flirting in the Rovers Liam's narked as Carla milks the situation.

Abi's gutted to hear the injuries to her eye will mean she's confined to a desk job. As she tells Mel (Emma Edmondson) she's considering quitting the force if she can't be a proper copper Mel can't help but blame herself.

Elsewhere Amber (Nikki Patel) consoles Darryl (Jonathon Dixon) as Teresa tries to use him to get to the rest of the Mortons.

Mel (Emma Edmondson) is still struggling with her guilt, knowing she's the one who's responsible for Abi's (Rachael Elizabeth) injuries, and she can' face going into work. As Jerry (Michael Starke) wonders if she's got enough nerve for the job Mel decides to drown her sorrows in the Rovers. But as the evening goes on she heads for a taxi, refusing to say where she's going. Teresa (Karen Henthorn) and Darryl (Jonathon Dixon) decide to follow her and are shocked to hear she's heading back to the club where Abi was injured. What is Mel up to?

Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) is throwing another sickie to be with John (Graeme Hawley). Admitting she'd miss him if he wasn't around she agrees to give their relationship another try and blow what their friends think. John's delighted but how long will they be able to hide themselves away for?

As Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Tom (Phillip McGinley) prepare stock Maria muses about how nicely they're doing without Carla (Alison King). The boys know better but neither are prepared to let Maria in on their secret.

Elsewhere Amber (Nikki Patel) gets herself a date with Darryl but Dev's (Jimmi Harkishin) determined to scupper her chances. Dev meanwhile is getting fed up of Nina's (Harvey Virdi) reckless attitude towards their affair.

12Sept_Mel_Teresa_Bar.jpgFriday 12 September 8.30pm

Teresa (Karen Henthorn) catches up with Mel (Emma Edmondson) as she trails Charelle and her friends at the club. Sending the bouncer on a wild goose chase, Mel's about to make her move until Teresa stops her. Guessing she's spoiling for her fight Teresa talks sense to her stating she risks losing her job and going to prison. It works and Mel calms down but as she goes to the bar to get them a drink Teresa follows Charelle to the toilets. Is she about to exact her own revenge?

Meanwhile Amber's (Nikki Patel) gutted when a preoccupied Darryl (Jonathon Dixon) forgets their date. But as she consoles herself with chocolate Darryl appears full of apologies. Will they kiss and make up?

Dev's (Jimmi Harkishin) late for a meeting with Prem (Madhav Sharma) but Nina (Harvey Virdi) doesn't care and is in no hurry to leave the flat. Eventually Prem arrives at the door and Dev is forced to hide Nina in the bedroom. Is their affair about to be discovered?

Elsewhere Fiz (Jennie McAlpine) arrives back on the street with John (Graeme Hawley) in tow. Julie's (Katy Cavanagh) disappointed to see she's let John talk her round and Fiz realises their relationship is not going to be readily accepted.

And as Liam (Rob James-Collier) and Tom (Phillip McGinley) have their first secret business meeting with Carla (Alison King), she's happy to hear him making lame excuses to Maria (Samia Smith).

Dev really doesen't want Amber to have a life, does he?

You cant blame Dev for wanting his daughter to pitch herself a bit higher than the two local losers.
