Corrie slap count: third quarter

21july_Fiz_Slap_John.jpgWe're back on form and into overdrive with the year to date slap count and we've really upped the ante this quarter which started off fairly quickly with a punch up followed sharpish by a resounding slap, a hair pulling girl-fight next and another slap after that. And it continued on (and on) from there although September has been quiet (Have I missed any, dear readers?). In total this quarter, we had 5 incidents. That makes a total of 13 for the year, with five in the first quarter, and three in the second quarter.

July 16: I've not been including "boy on boy" punch ups but since we included Becky thumping her builder last time, I think we can include this as our first entry: Michelle has found out that Steve only proposed to her because Lloyd dropped him in it. Lloyd confessed his "joke" and Michelle made Steve buy an expensive ring and propose again in the pub. She then said NO and full on punched him in the face behind the bar with everyone watching!

July 21: Less than a week later, we have the first true slap of the quarter. Fiz slaps John Stape who has returned to the street to try to get Fiz back. Fiz doesn't seem too keen but John keeps professing his love and asking if she'd take him back. She answers him with a slap that echoed around the cobbles! Later on in the same evening, Michelle whacked Steve on the arms when she realized he was trying to use Amy to get back in her good books but we won't count that as an official slap.

30jul_Clarissa_Liz_Rovers.jpgJuly 30: a mere week from the first slap sees Liz and Clarissa in a hairpulling cat-fight in the Rovers after which Clarissa is bodily ejected out of the pub by the landlady. The reason? Now that Liz has dumped Vernon, she's starting to think Harry might be a nice diversion after all but Clarissa also wants Harry back and he's considering it. This means war!

11aug_Deirdre_Slap_Ken.jpgAugust 11: Not two weeks later, another proper slap upside the head and *my* head is spinning now, with this non stop conveyor belt of slaps. This time it's Deirdre slapping Ken, just by way of a change. Why? Well, he's decided to resucitate a near-50 year old novel and the characters hit a little too close to home. The writing is taking over his life and Deirdre isn't happy.

August 22: John Stape gets the back of Fiz's hand yet again when she thinks he's the one that beat up Chesney (because of Ches' lies). Kayleigh puts her right and Chesney confesses and in the end, Fiz ends up in a liplock with Stape. (oh dear).
