More senior Corriebloggers will remember a character in the early sixties called Jed Stone, also known as Sunny Jim. He was one of those "loveable rogue" types, who could charm the birds off the trees. He specialised in charming old ladies, including Minnie Caldwell who thought of him as the son she never had. You can read all about him here.
Jed Stone was played by Kenneth Cope, who will also be remembered for his part as a ghost in the cult TV series Randall and Hopkirk (Deceased). And apparently Kenneth Cope is about to return to Weatherfield, as an "elderly tenant" (of what or where I don't know) who stands in the way of Tony Gordon's business expansion schemes.
Now all we need is to bring back Barbara Young as Doreen, for a bit of love interest for him!
