Michael Starke, who plays Jerry Morton in Coronation Street, has been talking to ITV.com about the heart attack Jerry suffers when he tries to chase the hoodies who've been terrorising the Street.
"Filming the heart attack was difficult because it was done over several days," he says. "We had some medical people on set with us to make sure what we did was right and looked authentic. Jerry's one of these people who thinks he's going to live forever, but it's brought home to him in no uncertain terms that he's not indestructible. He starts to worry about what he could lose, and that his family would be left with nothing, and he thinks 'I've really got to get a grip here.'"
Hospitalized and worried about the future, the last person Jerry needs to see is his ex-wife, Teresa. "I'm not sure how Teresa finds out about Jerry's heart attack, but like a bad penny she turns up," Michael says. "This is a great opportunity for her - she's going to ingratiate herself with the family, get in and see what she can get out of it."
Karen Henthorn, who plays Teresa, loves her character, but agrees that she's just out for herself: "Teresa's fantastic fun, she's dry, witty - and a bit of a cow!"
But Jerry just might need her, as Michael Starke explains: "At the back of Jerry's mind is the thought that he needs some help, he can't do it on his own."

Sounds like Teresa will be taking over Cilla's role as selfish bad mother. Thought Finlay's last name was Bryant not Morton.
Finlay is the worst actor since Christopher in Dallas.
