Double episode written by Martin Sterling and Peter Whalley
They steal milk! They smash bottles! They swing from the bus shelter! It's the Coronation Street hoodies! And a right evil-looking trio they are as well. Roy saw them off after they caused a bit of early-morning mayhem, but he thought that was the end of it, Weatherfield being the peaceful place it is while David Platt's banged up, so he didn't think to warn anyone else. And just as Rita was taking a long lunch and Norris was taking a quick peek into Her Choice magazine in t'Kabin, the hoodies came in, grabbed him and robbed the till. Poor Norris ended up crumpled in a heap of Chupa Chups. The knock-on effect of this was that Claire lost a potential buyer for her house when Jerry came running over to tell her about the incident right in front of the buyers (she's put the house on with an estate agent to spite Sally).
One of these thugs (the big one) turns out to be called Kenzie...
Kayleigh Morton has a bit of a crush on Kenzie, which is why she isn't looking at Chesney, which is why Chesney's been acting so glum recently. Kenzie is Romeo Gallagher to Kayleigh's Juliet Katona in the school play, that timeless story of love and family feuding, Moss Side Story. And Kayleigh and Finlay Morton both know that Kenzie has been up to no good.
Elsewhere, Roger's been cracking on with installing the Barlows' new bathroom. Only he hasn't, because it turns out he's a history bore - sorry, buff - and he and Ken spent the whole day chinnywagging about obscure historical figures and plumbing systems. What I really want to know is whether the avocado bath that was parked in the hallway all episode was the old one coming out or the new one going in.
We met Tina's dad, and he's rather lovely. Gail certainly had a twinkle in her eye - could romance be on the cards for Mrs Platt? Go on, she deserves it! She also rang her lovely dad because she's missing him. Tina was sacked from the Pound Shop. Let's try and guess where she ends up working next. The Kabin? The salon? Roy's Rolls? Underworld?
Things I learned from this episode: little Freddie Peacock is very cute, and rather a good actor for a toddler. Daniel Craig's swimming trunks gave Rita ideas. And an ace is the same as a hole-in-one in frisbee golf.
