Katherine Kelly doesn't smoke

Katherine Kelly turned up on This Morning yesterday, judging the Corrie lookalikes competition that ITV have been running. You can watch a video of her picking the winner here. I'll give you a clue - the person who won was pulled off his feet by a very large dog.

In the accompanying interview, Katherine talked about her character Becky Grainger, and her on/off relationship with Jason Grimshaw. She also confirmed that Becky will be starting work at the Rovers soon, which will make her the 50th barmaid. She'll keep on the day job at Roy's Rolls, though, because everybody loves the rapport between Becky and Roy.

Katherine also mentioned that she doesn't actually smoke. All the fags we see Becky getting through are herbal ones, which apparently stink horribly and the crew complain that they all end up stinking of it at the end of the day's filming. Katherine based Becky's smoking and gum-chewing on her dad, who she says is always trying to give up smoking and chews gum when he can't have a cigarette.
