Charlie Condou leaving Coronation Street

MarcusSean.jpgCharlie Condou, who has been a popular addition to Corrie as Sean Tully's boyfriend Marcus Dent, has announced he is leaving the show in the summer.

On ITV.com he says, "I have had a fantastic time but this is the right time to move on, there are a few things in the pipeline one of which is a feature film but it is all under wraps at the moment. I have really enjoyed working with everybody at Coronation Street and I will miss all the cast and crew when I leave later on this year."

His exit storyline is said to involve "a juicy love triangle" - which presumably means yet more heartbreak for Sean.

    This is a real shame. I really, really like Marcus as a character. One of the few new characters that were introduced last year that really seemed to click.

    I wish Charlie all the best for the future.

    A great shame-he's a great character in my opinion. Good luck to Charlie though, he's in a movie soon called "Good" starring Viggo Mortensen, Jason Isaacs

    and Mark Strong.

    What a shame, I quite like Marcus. Does anyone have a truly happy relationship on the Street. If I were Molly and Tyrone, I'd be getting worried.
