It had to happen, really. As an ITV source told the Sun, "Corrie's a moral show, he had to get lifted in the end." David Platt is finally going to get punished for his crimes.
The Sun and the Daily Mail both have photos showing David doing time in a Young Offenders Institute. According to the Sun, it won't be another chance for Jack P Shepherd to top up his tan by going on holiday, because we'll actually get to see what happens to David while he's inside.
Expect Norris to be offering advice, like he did for Kevin Webster.

And about time, this should have happened a year ago.
Hoo-flaming-rah. Long overdue!
Hoo-flaming-rah. Long overdue!
YAY! About time too!
Is it going to do any good or make David even worse?
I expect Gail will have "that face" on and be shouting at Audrey and Bill and blaming them.
I think it will be the making of him. They wouldn't be able to keep "evil" David for ever, so it's obvious the character has to change. I just hope going the other way doesn't make him too boring.
I said this had to happen last week! I am delighted that it will happen.
Top marks to the Corrie producers for being consistent. The same fate has to fall David as it did for Tracey.
Delighted.
Steve McDonald also spent a time in jail in his younger days and is now one of the streets big (relatively speaking) buisness owners. I hope something similar happens with David. Would hate to is Jack leave the show - his is just too good an actor.
I agree with dilly. They can't keep writing David so evilly, he'll be written in to a corner and they'll have to get rid of him. He needs something that will turn him around.
Oh please let us see the little monster really suffer before he comes back.
